Mr. Elderson shows his class

Post by truetalk »

Nothing new here.

It is not that there are no better options.

It is not that he has not hurt us before (A lot of the problems Awaziem faced vs Bafana was due to Mr. Elderson).

Yet somehow, not only is he a starter, but the no. 3 on the Captain rank.

He did not even try chasing after the guy :boo: Hopefully Victor and Simon will track back to help against the young and fast Zambian forwards

Im no uwa fan as i think he is past it as an SE player, but these things happen. bad day at the office.
We have been brainwashed by the Premier League that it's the best in the world. Nonsense. It's the best brand
Roy Keane: ITV 02/25/14

He says that we are currently "brainwashed" into believing that the Premier League is the best competition in the world, and that we are now a long way off dominating the Champions League again.
Gary Neville: Mirror: 12/23/14

I think Spain’s by far the best league.

You guys should stop picking on elderson. The problem here is that people just want us to discard our experienced players but have no better alternative. Fine, you think elderson should be dropped, but for who?? We tried amuzie against Egypt and he was insulted, we tried madu the same insults. Who are your better alternative for left back? Ola aina? His a right back and would likely be uncomfortable at left back

lol the Zambians will literally have a freeway with no traffic on that LB position, and it doesn't help that they have some fast and nimble footed players, God help us if Elderson has to be the man to hold back their forays...

I would convert a CB like Omeruo to play the LB, heck even Balogun can play the role...

Omeruo or balogun at left back ahead of elderson? I'm pretty convinced that people just talk for the sake of talking. The elderson guy wasn't even bad against Algeria not Cameroun.

This is my discomfort with Rohr. Not courageous enough to put competence before longevity. Echiejile is past it and is really now not up to the mark. It is also bad, because he stretches out the central defence such that they leave gaps in the middle. Balogun is often covering for his lapses. A bad full back can make the central defence look very bad. What are the immediate options? Balogun can play left back, with Awaziem in the centre. Aina can play left back. Any of these may be better.

Don't know how a professional footballer can be so stiff.
