That Assist for the 3rd goal
I can not wait to see this boy in the SE.

We have been brainwashed by the Premier League that it's the best in the world. Nonsense. It's the best brand
Roy Keane: ITV 02/25/14
He says that we are currently "brainwashed" into believing that the Premier League is the best competition in the world, and that we are now a long way off dominating the Champions League again.
Gary Neville: Mirror: 12/23/14
I think Spain’s by far the best league.

From highlights:
1 GSO - Wins back ball, key pass, should have been a goal
1 GOAL - involved in build-up play
2 GOAL - not involved
3 GOAL - excellent pass for an assist

Good stuff from our boy, but from this clip doesn't look like a super competitive league. Unless this is some kind of friendly or warm up match? B/c the opposition doesn't seem to even have names on their jerseys?

Ok, makes more sense now. I'm like their opposition can't even afford to put names on their jerseys lol.niyi wrote:Cup game.maceo4 wrote:Good stuff from our boy, but from this clip doesn't look like a super competitive league.

Futured on sunday, in a league game. Came in around the 75th minute. Played in a two man CM/DM position, on the right hand side.
One could tell instantly, the boy has something special going on. Even the fans, kept hailing him, when ever he touched the ball.
Had one clear chance, to score, but the goalkeeper came out bravely to smoother the ball. Also distributed the ball, whenever he got it properly long and short passes.
Ran through the middle at least twice, with the same move. First he feigns, and the player buys it then put the ball to the side he wants, and zooms off.
Like every rookie just coming in, you can see, the team is still trying to size him up.
I think in another 3-4 games in, he will be starting.

Re: Highlight from Kelechi Nwakali's first start
I'm sure that if he starts featuring in league games as a starter and still performing as well he'll be in the first team before soon. That may force Rohr's hand.
Re: Highlight from Kelechi Nwakali's first start
Wow forget the league, even if it is Sunday Sunday League, I haven't seen a Nigeria player put that much technique in his passing since JJ Okocha.
I am not talking about range, I'm not talking about accuracy, I'm not talking about pass completion.
but the sheer technique...and it did tick all those other boxes anyway.
I'm liking what I'm seeing.

Buhari, whose two terms thankfully ground to a constitutional halt in May. (One thing both democracies have going for them is that their leaders, however bad, have only two terms to swing the wrecking ball.) Under Buhari, growth per head also plunged to 0. An economic agenda drawn from the dusty pages of a 1970s protectionist handbook failed to do the trick. Despite Buhari’s promise to tame terrorism and criminality, violence flourished. Despite his reputation for probity, corruption swirled. FT

Based on all evidence available so far, I'd much rather that decision be left to Rohr than an impiulsive, panicky armchair analyst like you.bully12 wrote:Bros you will wait till thy kingdom come before Mr Rohr invites him to SEmetalalloy wrote:That Assist for the 3rd goal

Bros even if the boy is passing balls in the sun, moon and stars Mr conservative himself Rohr will never ever invite him to Super Eagles. His inordinate and pernicious conservatism passionately irritates and exasperates me.Tbite wrote:Wow forget the league, even if it is Sunday Sunday League, I haven't seen a Nigeria player put that much technique in his passing since JJ Okocha.

Need to get stronger and work on his defensive skills. Not ready for the Eagles but he is developing well.
Winners do it the right way.

Re: Highlight from Kelechi Nwakali's first start
So far 94% pass completion and that's as a attacking player pushing forward.
Despite only playing 47 minutes he's ranked 6th as the best VVV player so far this season.
Naturally its just stats, but there is no way Nwakali is not in the first team before long.
He was by far the best player in MVV and obviously too good for the league.
History could very well be repeating itself this season. Nwakali's passing range is crazy good.

Re: Highlight from Kelechi Nwakali's first start
Rohr hasn't really had a chance to call him yet, he is a major game changer that would affect the core of the team if he works hard. I kinda see him in a similar position okocha was in 94. Heir apparent but has to wait his turn

Re: Highlight from Kelechi Nwakali's first start
I'm wondering whether Mikel and Nwakali would fit in together.
Accomodating everyone will be a problem natural, because Ndidi and Onazi won't both be able to play.
Nwakali could however be a great sub for Mikel, because it seems the legend doesn't have 90 minute legs any more.
And yes - Rohr hasn't had a chance to call him up yet. Let Nwakali win a starting slot for VVV and then we can clamour about a Nwakali invite.

Re: Highlight from Kelechi Nwakali's first start
Well, the classic combination for a midfield trio is a passer, a tackler/ball-winner, and a runner. In Rohr's system I'd imagine Mikel would have to sit in front of the defence to accommodate a player like Nwakali.marutimon wrote:I'm wondering whether Mikel and Nwakali would fit in together.

Re: Highlight from Kelechi Nwakali's first start
There is a logic to the call up process....Who does he bench right now? He's only had a handful of games since he started his professional career. His time will surely come ... However IMHO, the WC may have come a bit too early..It's a straight pick between him and Etebo..marutimon wrote:I'm wondering whether Mikel and Nwakali would fit in together.
