ONAZI INJURED

Post by Gotti »

He had to be taken off in the first half of today's game against Kayserispor...
Game is now midway into the 2H, with Asamoah Gyan just coming on for Kayserispor.

Wow! He’s the heart of the mf. He brings it for 90mn! No need for new players, we have Agu, ogu and Agbo who can fill in.

Nwakali is the ideal replacement for Onazi.

Ogu is himself just coming back from injury...
I do not think that he is yet a hundred percent fit.

Etebo can step into that position in the central midfield.

I agree but i would make mikel play deeper and Etebo ahead of him and Ndidi
However I suspect Rohr will simply play Agu in Onazis position and leave Mikel where he is

Ifeanyi Ifeanyi is on standby I think.

Now that Messi is not playing on the 14th. We can experiment more.

Against Algeria.

Uzoho
Ebuehi(sp), Awaziem, Omeruo, Aina
Agu, Ebebo, Ogu
Iwobi, Iheanacho, Onyekuru

Against Argentina

Ezenwa
Shehu, Balogun, Ekong, Aina
Ogu, Mikel, Ndidi
Iwobi, Iheanacho, S Moses

Mikel Agu is a good young player, on the books of Porto, currently out on loan. A young player that will continue to get better.
Winners do it the right way.

Mikel does not have the legs to play the playmaker role at the World Cup. Rohr needs to use these games to sort this out!

I have to agree
Mikel is still our best creative midfielder
But he always gases out after ~70 minutes playing that position
Playing him there automatically uses one of our three available substitutes which restricts us tactically
Personally I would play him deeper and let Iwobi & Etebo settle into the attacking midfield slot before Russia

Onazi is injured and instead of wishing him 'soonest recovery' yourself you are more interested in criticising others

Exclusive – Mikel Pulls Out Of Eagles Clash Against Algeria, Argentina Due To Injury
Maxwell Pius, November 8, 2017

Super Eagles and Bursaspor of Turkey midfielder Mikel Agu has pulled out of the Nigeria squad ahead of upcoming games against Algeria and Argentina on the 10th and 14th of this month respectively.

Agu was an injury doubt going into the game due to the knock he sustained in his club’s last league game against Kasimpasa that lead to his substitution.

He trained normally with the team yesterday, but failed to make today’s morning session after the doctors advised the midfielder to seek proper medical care.

Unconfirmed report has it that he has already left the camp of the team to his base in Turkey, where he will receive proper medical treatment for the knee injury.
