Meanwhile, Samuel Kalu scored Sunday in Gent's 3-0 win over Lokoren...
All Nigerians (Moses Simon, Esiti and Kalu) started, but Kalu was subbed off late.

But to keep a SE shirt as a goalscorer, he has to start scoring goals for the SE.
The goals will come.
Perhaps, they will come...
But if not soon, might well be too late for Russia.

How does he score when he is not fielded?
He has enough time to impress and maintain his spot in the squad. But your guy can't keep fluffing his lines every time he gets the opportunity...

He only got 10 minutes against Algeria. Please where is this “opportunity” you are talking about?

If he is waiting to get 90 minutes in a team that already has Ighalo, Victor Moses, Iwobi, Iheanacho, and Musa before he scores then he is not ready to break into the team. Barring injuries to some of the players mentioned above, I don't think Onyekuru will get more than a few minutes in games until after the WC considering the next few friendlies will be used to fine tune tactics and build team cohesion. For him to break into this team he will have to do magic everytime his number is called like Aghahowa used to do in the early 2000s. That's the hard reality of the situation. It does not mean he is a bad player, it just means there are many already established players ahead of him. Simple.

Fellow Imolite when will you quit this puerile gibberish? It is becoming inordinately irritating .

That is no reality. It is being dishonest. Gotti has not told you how many minutes he featured for in each game.

This is obviously misinformation, false facts and half truth, How long does usually take Ighalo to score one goal. Did you really watch Corisca and Togo to evaluate his performances or you are basing your inference on false premises of second hand information. There is no question beyond any shadow of doubt the boy has not been offered adequate opportunity to make a claim for a shirt with super eagles like any player that had featured prominently in the past with SE,

Onyekuru played:

10 mins against Algeria
58 mins against Corsica
58 mins against Togo

In all three games he distinguished himself with good performances. Those mentioning goals are just being dishonest as for instance, the likes of Ighalo, Moses, Simon, Musa, etc all featured in games in which they did not score. Should they not have been dropped as a result if we are applying the standards to all players?

Dude, why do I have to watch those games to know if he scored?!

20 minutes.

Anyway, your point is well taken.
