So Nigeria was seeded last at the 2018 World Cup?

Post by Field Marshall Ogolo »

This is disturbing and tells us what to expect. Only time will tell. Ranked with Saudi Arabia, Panama and Serbia??

https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/sports/ ... -world-cup

he top seven-rated teams include Germany, Portugal, Brazil, Argentina, Belgium, Poland and France which join Russia as part of pot 1. Pot two consists of teams that are ranked beyond number 8 up to 18 in the ranking index. Such will include Spain, England, Switzerland, Peru, Colombia, Uruguay, Croatia and Mexico. Port 3 will encompass teams falling within the bracket of 19 to 34 in rating. Denmark, Iceland, Costa Rica, Sweden, Tunisia, Egypt, Iran and Senegal have been earmarked for the group. The last pot, number 4 will consist of those falling within the bracket of 38 to 63 in world ranking. They are predominantly Asian and African teams like Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Japan, Morocco, Panama, South Korea, Australia, and Serbia.

There is nothing wrong with using Fifa rankings to seed teams. Things have always been done that way.

Where is Kenya seeded? :D
We have been brainwashed by the Premier League that it's the best in the world. Nonsense. It's the best brand
Roy Keane: ITV 02/25/14

He says that we are currently "brainwashed" into believing that the Premier League is the best competition in the world, and that we are now a long way off dominating the Champions League again.
Gary Neville: Mirror: 12/23/14

I think Spain’s by far the best league.

Chief Ogolo, please clarify! How is Nigeria seeded LAST based on what the article presented?

... yes we are, but some teams; if not many, will be shocked by God's grace.

Thank you. Kenya wasn't even seeded for the CECAFA Cup. And hosting or qualifying for a mere CHAN became was a conundrum the whole of Nairobi and Mombassa cannot decipher. You may have sworn in a Kenyatta for the umpteenth time but in football, it's not yet uhuru for Kenya. Your journalists should stop punching above their weights.
TOUCH NOT MY ANOINTED...
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding...hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe

The dilemma of a Kenyan man. They just don't understand how folks they are 'better' than keep outdoing them in almost everything.
It really must be frustrating being a Kenyan man. :?

Please lets respond to Ogolo without mentioning that country of steeple chasers. When it comes to football you should not be mentioning that country in the same thread as the Super Eagles. Doing that gives that yeye team some legitimacy.

I mean you won't mention sheit when you're talking about ice cream, would you?

I'VE ALWAYS HATED THESE FIFA POLLS, BECAUSE...

...they are less than a rough predictor of how teams will perform. It's atrocious for FIFA to use it in this ultimate objective. Clearly a better ranking system is needed.

Yours is the most sensible response here. We know Argentina is waiting for Nigeria somewhere. This will not end well for the giants of Africa. :taunt:

I agree but any ideas on a better seeding option, because I am all ears.
