Per Mertesacker, speaking in today's matchday programme:
"In the last two games we've struggled to find solutions for the problems both Southampton and West Ham gave us. They've sat deep and tired to hit us on the break, limiting our chances. We need to be careful with that. It's important to defend as well when you lose the ball. What's important is to work on how we can put opponents under more pressure when we have possession. We need to find more solutions to that and make sure we're more dangerous."
A true captain and the mentality of a future good coach :thumb:

You mean ‘Iwobi starts’?
Because unless this Maitland-Niles bloke is Naija, who on CE gives an Eff if he starts or ends?!

Not happy with team selection but hoping for the WIN.

Hopefully the inclusion of Lacazette makes all the difference to our play upfront, we have been toothless in recent games.

One also hopes for much improved performances from Koscielny, Bells, Iwobi especially and Sanchez too since the manager won't drop them.

Very disappointing. But I dont expect anything different. A Nigerian is starting and yet, a Nigerian on a Nigerian forum is more interested in some no-name.

Yes, it is about Arsenal, but you are on a Nigerian forum. Arsenal has multiple fora on the web.

Arsenal looking very sharp to start this game ... hope it bears some fruit. Xhaka must you always foul people needlessly ...

Cech parries the resultant header from the free kick into touch...

How come Koscielny doesn't get a yellow for that agricultural tackle?

i love games like these. This is a win/win for me. Either Arsenal loses or a fat faced Txj boy-friend loses another game! If there is a draw, Arsenal drop points.

Very bad miss by Alexis Sanchez ... that would have culminated great one touch passing by Arsenal

So it's more than 10minutes and Arsenal hasn't conceded?

Anyone remember when Arsenal got Kolasinac for free, WITHOUT COMPETITION FROM ANY SERIOUS CLUB?  They thought they had struck gold. Collectively, they twerked and twerked and told us how he was a powerful left back. Today, he is benched by a rightfooted child. :rotf:

Why is Ozil in the deep middle of the field? This shrinking violet looked terrified to make a simple challenge ... now a corner for Newcastle :curse:
