His players were simply not up to it. Too many of them were sub-standard.

Not a good coach at all, but watch him get hired in a minute.

Zouma, Crouch and Shaqiri are the only quality players they have. None of the others were good enough in my opinion.

Teams like Crystal Palace, Southampton and West Ham have good players but were not playing well but Stoke simply lacked the talent. A new manager needs to buy at least theee impact players this January if they are to avoid relegation.

How he managed to stay this long is a miracle TBH.
2 of the finest indigenous coaches Nigeria ever had lost in a space of 4 days. Dear Lord, is this a sign that you are taking away from us what we failed to appreciate? I pray for forgiveness of our sins. I pray for the humility to recognize our wrongs and the humbleness and wisdom to right our ways.

Kevin Wimmer - Austrian International
Berahino
Choupo Moting - Cameroon International
Jese - Played for Madrid/PSG
Affellay - Played for Barca
Indi - Holland International

I can name more. and dont forget he also had Imbula.

Hughes is a horrendous coach. Thats the reason he failed.

Form, not reputation wins games. Butland for instance Na basket and Moting is a hopeless plantain farmer

Only if you gave Nigerian coaches this same excuses. But that will never happen.

That Stoke team is good enough to be in the top 8. They have significantly better players than the likes of Burnley.

Hughes is a dinosaur, an Inceasaurus from an era bygone, where a rallying warcry and fixed stare were ample impetus for 90 minutes of undivided attention and unquestionable loyalty to the cause. The game asks for more than a Guvnor today and thus the Hughes and Inces, the latter, the etymological father of the epoch, are rendered obsolete. Of course he'll be back, thus disproving the Darwinian thesis of survival and evolution.
