For the past 2 years we have celebrated the rise a new young generation of talent like Alex Iwobi Issac Success and Wilfred Ndidi
Ex man city star Kelechi Iheanacho has been the star performer so far.
Now that that generation has crossed the 20 year mark who are the new top 10 burgeoning talent coming through the ranks?

10.Tosin kehinde – 18 June 1998 (age 19)
The Lagos born attacker is seen as the future of Manchester United and could go on to be the 1st Nigerian to play for the English side
The versatile player is primarily used in a central midfield position but can play in the attack or from the wings
Has been exceptional for the Manchester United developmental side and has flirted with the first team on occasion taking part in training for United’s visit to West Brom following injuries and suspensions to key players
Kehinde is a fast brilliant player with a crisp range of passing and has been getting top marks for his performance in the Manchester United reserves where he won many man of the match awards
Tosin Kehinde has already exceeded expectations in 2017 but there is still a lot more to come

9.Victor Osimhen- 29 December 1998 (age 19)
After finally returning back to training with his German Bundesliga side VFL Wolfsburg after about two months out with Injury the youngster showed his quality or his German side VFL Wolfsburg scoring twice as the Germans ran riot over a selected side from the Veltins region.
Though still unable to break into the Wolfsburg 1st team he is highly rated by his coach and has made the bench on a couple of occasions finally made his long awaited debut for his German clubside Wolfsburg in their 1-1 draw with Borussia Mönchengladbach when he came on as a 59th minute substitute.
He also scored another brace in another friendly in October
He quality is also fully appreciated by national team coach Gernot Rohr who has invited him to the Super Eagles on numerous occasions ahead of more established strikers and he made his debut when he was introduced as a second half substitute in Nigeria’s 3-0 win over Togo
Osimhen is a natural finisher fast pacy clinical with an eye for goal

8.Ebere Eze – 29 June 1998 (age 19)
Ebere Eze is nothing short of exceptional
Proof of his value saw him sign a new deal with QPR in 2017 after becoming the mainstay of their Elite Development Squad where he netted 9 goals in 14 starts
Joined Wycombe Wanderers on loan in August and impressed immensely at the EFL League Two club tallying 5 goals in 16 starts notably scoring a superb brace to help Wycombe to a 3-1 victory at Cambridge winning several man of the match awards along the way
Ebere has been described as having unbelievable ability” and been tipped to lead the QPR front-line in the future by coach Ian Holloway. He has been described by teammates including childhood friend Bright Osayi-Samuel as one of the best talents to grace the leather game
His talent has not gone unnoticed in Nigeria and the lad from Mbaise Imo state was invited to train with the Super Eagles of Nigeria in London back in March 2017

7.Orji Okonkwo – 19 January 1998 (age 19)
Orji caught the eye of the world at the U17 world cup when he netted a 35-yard screamer in Nigeria U17 4-2 semi-final victory against Mexico at the 2015 Fifa U17 World Cup in Chile
He was swiftly snapped up by Bologna of Italy and was immense for Bolognas primervera squad earlier in the year scoring 5 goals in 5 appearances for Bologna’s youth team
His transition to the 1st team was inevitable and he made his debut at the end of 2016
He justified his promotion to the Bologna main squad becoming a super sub of sorts and has now scored 3 goals for the senior side
Orji Okonkwo was rated the 2nd most efficient striker In Italy in 2017 scoring a goal every 67 minutes.
A versatile and deadly forward.

6.Kelechi Nwakali – 5 June 1998 (age 19)
Kelechi Nwakali is one of Nigerias best young midfield talents
Had an amazing year especially while on loan at MVV MVV Maastricht dazzling and scoring exquisite goals and was named by highly-respected Arsenal youth team expert, Jeorge Bird as Arsenal’s most outstanding loanee
Kelechi played 29 league matches and scored two league goals for MVV before he joined VVV venlo this season where he hasn’t been able to hit the hights he hit at MVV but still scored his first professional goal for VVV Venlo
Kelechi has been tipped for greatness and tipped for a fast return to Arsenal one he gets a Uk work permit

5.Francis Uzoho – 28 October 1998 (age 19)
Francis Uzoho is a blessing and a revelation for Nigeria
The ex Golden Eaglet was exemplary for Deportivos B team and was rewarded with a 1st team appearance for Deportivo making him the youngest foreign goalkeeper in the history of the League
Uzoho also joined exalted company becoming only the third Nigerian goalkeeper in the history of the League after Wilfred Agbonavbare and Peter Rufai
He was impressive on his debut keeping a clean sheet and his amazing 2017 continued with an invitation to the Super Eagles
He was so impressive on his Eagles debut against Argentina, extruding a calmness and confidence between the sticks belying his tender years
Now fans and pundits are calling for the young 19 year old to be made the 1st choice ahead of the Russia world cup

4.Samuel Kalu – 26 August 1997 (age 20)
Young dashing exciting winger Samuel Kalu has become one of the mainstays of KAA Gent since joining in January 2017
He is now one of the preferred choices on the wings alongside his Nigerian compatriot and Super Eagles player Moses Simon
Kalu has already become a fan favorite at the prestigious Ghelmaco Arena of Gent and has hit the net 7 times since joining Gent

3.Dennis Bonaventure – 15 November 1997 (age 20)

2.Chidozie Awaziem – 1 January 1997 (age 21)
One of the finest young central defenders to come out of Nigeria and (now at 21) can only get better
Awaziem shined for Porto’s youth side as they lifted the prestigious Premier league International cup even scoring in the final
After continuously impressing at Porto Awaziem moved to Claudio Ranieris Nantes where he has has cemented his spot in the first team of French Ligue 1 side Nantes
Has also solidified his Super Eagles status as he is seen as the 1st alternative to the tested pair of Troost Ekong and Leon Balogun
He also the 1st option should coach Rohr decide to play a 3 man defence
Awaziem scored his first professional goal in Nantes 2-1 win over Guingamp and was outstanding in Nantes loss to PSG marking out Brazilian superstar Neymar

1.Henry Onyekuru – 5 June 1997 (age 20)
Onyekuru is arguably Nigerias most exciting young talent and one of the most lethal strikers in Europe still aged only 20
Joint top scorer in Belgium last season (scored a whopping 22 goals for KAS Eupen) and was steadily rising to the top of the charts again till he was cut short by injury
Onyekuru has had an amazing 2017 signing for top English side Everton from where he was sent on a season long loan to Anderlecht and finally getting invited to the Super Eagles
Pacy, skillful and deadly in front of goal Onyekuru is the real deal

Not all of them on the list are Under 20. There are a few 20s and a 21 year old on the list.

Impressive though and I hope they continue to develop in the right direction.
