POOR decision-making runs through the entire team...truetalk wrote:Poor awareness from our players. You have the ball in your half with no pressure and you blast the ball into nowhere as if cleared under pressure.
Especially disappointed in a supposedly wily veteran like Rabiu Ali.

Oh we won. I Left at 0-1
Re: NIGERIA(2) VS ANGOLA(1) FT
We need to be better with our corners. We had 16, & hardly threatened.
Hopefully, it was just an off day from Ali (who took most of the corners), but they might need to find someone else to take those corners.

TERRIBLE? Not sure I agree with you there bruv, but its defintely not a very good team. I dont think they are terrible. They got the result so I'm happy.Gotti wrote:I guess 'Congrats' is in order...
But this is such a TERRIBLE team.
Re: NIGERIA(2) VS ANGOLA(1) FT
Pyrhhic victory no doubt, but at least they fought back... Just realizing 50% of the Angolan team actually play for the senior national team.

You can cut that number in half because Rabiu wasted the first kick each time.

Nigeria has some talent but team-wise it is horrible. The big CD is solid. Atoluma has potential but rather clueless. Left back has potential. No 10 also

Re: NIGERIA(2) VS ANGOLA(1) FT
A total disjointed team in the 1st half but they came back more composed in the second half.
The talents were there but most of them appeared to be playing together for the 1st time. There's more room for improvement and I think Opoktu should be replaced in the semis against Sudan. Congrats to the lads!

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. It was supposedly very cold, windy & later it started raining.Gotti wrote:POOR decision-making runs through the entire team...truetalk wrote:Poor awareness from our players. I've seen Ali play better. The 2 full backs are good (better than what Kwambe and Francis served up in previous HB Eagles in my opinion). Eze and Ezenwa are the class of the team. So the team is mostly solid at the back and tough to score against.
Okpotu is Agricultural up front, but he actually has some skill running with the ball and with the ball on his feet (maybe he should become a midfielder). There are a couple of other decent players here and there.
It is definitely several notches from watching the main SE, but these players from our supposedly bad NPFL have dominated every game so far, and if they had better finishing (Stephen Odey, who started with this team b4 moving to Europe for example), they would have been putting teams away with some ease.

Talent has hardly ever been our problem (apart from No. 14), but this is a poorly-coached team...YUJAM wrote:Nigeria has some talent but team-wise it is horrible. The big CD is solid. Atoluma has potential but rather clueless. Left back has potential. No 10 also

In relation to CHAN? Or world class in relation to De Gea, Courtois?

Actually, Ikouwem was impressive particularly in the second half, IMHO. Of all the defenders he seems to me to be the one currently able to play at SE lovel. Yea, I see Eze dominating but he has a long way to go with playing possession soccer and bring the ball up via midfield. For me only Ikouwem and Ezenwa belong at the SE level. The rest, no.
The shooting up front is absurd. Just very bad to state the least. But I think this team is notches improved from what I saw in that opening game against Rwanda.
