Mahrez, Musa and Leicester

Post by niyi »

Apparently Man city offered $50 million + Patrick Roberts on the last day of the transfer window and Leicester city rightfully rejected the bid - in a transfer window when Coutinho just got sold for $150 milla to a team outside the EPL. The same Mahrez decided to camp out in Barcelona when the Algerians were playing Zambia...

Now Mahrez has refused to train and I started feeling bad for Leicester that their best player is behaving like a little child but then I remember how they treated Musa.

1. They gave Demarai "headless chicken" Gray.

2. They stopped playing him entirely... you can't tell me that had anything to do with football. He had bad games but he was never than bad...

How do you guys feel about Leicester's treatment of Musa? Mahrez's behaviour? and player's attitude during transfer windows...

Oh... on a related note... Conte did the same to Mikel at Chelsea. Glad to see Bakayoko working out for him.

Mahrez is a quality player, Musa is not.
Musa did not make it at Leicester FC because of ability alone.
Mahrez is wrong what he did or is doing.

Mahrez is better than Musa
Musa is better than many give him credit for
Nigeria is better off with a match-fit Musa available for selection

It's not about comparing Mahrez and Musa's abilities. It's about a club treating a player badly while being hypocritically outraged that another player is treating them badly

What did Mahrez do at the last World Cup? How many trophies has Maher’s won for his country? While I believe that Maher’s is a good player it’s not going to change the fact that musa is also a quality player. You don’t perform the way musa performed against Argentina and be a bad player

How did they treat Musa badly? Is it their fault that he is crap? Did we not tell all of you that he will be found out when Leicester threw money in the dustbin to buy him?

It is a big insult to Mahrez to mention him in the same sentence as Musa. he is three classes above our Ahmed Musa!

See disrespect to Musa!! Mahrez and Musa are two different types of players.

Agreed. Is he the best/should he start for the eagles/leicester in his position? Probably not. But he's good enough to make the squad and get some minutes. Those goals vs Arg came straight out of nowhere....I'm pretty sure that if we had started somebody else apart from Musa, we'd have lost 3-0 or 4-0. That instinct and speed, you don't buy from the market.

Given the way Leicester plays, I am shocked that they'd play Gray over Musa....he seems to fit that style more than Gray. To see him not even make the squad for cup games was beyond the pale...I just didn't get it
