Off,yes that is emotionally charged response to an ashawo of a footballer who points to his father's house with a left finger...the yoruba call them the kind of name even the language monitors of this forum will not print.

There are many better players coming behind them, these two should be used as a scape goat to tell others make up your mind and make us your number one priority, we wont settle for second. That is not too much or too hard to ask as a nation with dignity and pride!

I am glad to have an ex-SE's view on this.

Bro, dont worry. They can do all they want. Take as many bribes as they want. Sleep with who ever they want. We are ready for them this year! It will not happen! Dont worry, bro.

Wow, did you say reap and sow ? In soccer? :rotf: Football is about winning and finding the best players, all those players that played in the qualifiers got paid. If a better player is discovered a day to the WC then the better player gets the nod. No such thing as reap and sow, y'all need to quit this "reserving shirts for players because they played in qualifiers" mentality, it only leads to 2nd round exit from the WC. Focus on the "current" "best"(numbers don't lie) and see the SE attain new heights.

First of all, football also involves chemistry and team spirit. It's a TEAM sport, not a sport of individuals. Yes we want our best players, but those best players must be committed to the cause, have a single minded unity of purpose and must work in unison when on the pitch. Anything else simply will not cut it. After all, we have seen many talented teams (including Nigerian teams) achieve diddly-squat at the World Cup because their team chemistry wasn't right; because of infighting in their ranks; or because of that lack of a United purpose or focus that all winning teams must have.

Secondly, do not undersell what our team accomplished in qualifying. You will probably protest that you are not doing so. But from your remarks you clearly don't understand how good our team proved to be in qualifying out of a historically difficult group that featured 4 Nations Cup winners. Believe me, what we did was not easy, even if we made it look so by qualifying with a game to spare. And just think, if not for our goalkeeping issues (which gave rise to blunders from Ezenwa away at Cameroon and Algeria) we'd have probably come through with a hundred percent record. That's how good our team was in qualifying, not only because of talent, but more critically because of team chemistry and unity of purpose.

In short, we finally have a TEAM.
So forgive us for not being in a haste to rubber stamp unnecessary changes to our squad. Mind you, we are well aware that all teams must continue to improve and evolve; and new players must always be brought in to push the incumbents and plug loopholes (and that is currently happening with the likes of Francis Uzoho, Brian Idowu, Joel Obi, Junior Ajayi and others being brought into the mix). So the argument here is not about retaining the same set of players that qualified us for the World Cup at all cost. But we must be careful that the changes that we make are necessary and actually improve the team, rather than subtract from it.

As for Jordan Ibe, I do not see any wisdom in bringing in a player at the eleventh hour, who didn't want to be part of the team in the first place. And your not just bringing him in, but GUARANTEEING him a spot? I'm sorry but that is pure foolishness.

Now if he has changed his mind and genuinely wants to turn out for Nigeria, that's fine. After all, d#$% Etuhu and Shola Ameobi both turned us down yet eventually wore the green, white and green. But if we have any sense at all, he will not be going to the World Cup.
Chief, last night, I decided to watch the Algeria and Argentina games. And my goodness, with the first team players we were missing in both games, we dominated Algeria in their backyard and we were mentally and technically more matured than ARGENTINA! ARGENTINA??!!!!! We controlled that game with the ball, let them have the ball and pass pass pass and we just picked them off!

Kaii! I had watched both games before, but reminding myself of what happened made me applaud! WE HAVE A TEAM!

You are making sense, unlike the previous reaping and sowing statement from the other CE, all I am saying is in my humble opinion, Ibe offers more than Simon and Musa, and just like idowu and ozoho are helping to improve SE, Ibe will be a better player in the bench than Simon. If random idowu can become a part of SE mad quick, I don't see why Ibe cannot blend with other SE players. Ibe can relate with V.moses, iwobi, Balogun, etc, and become a team player. Chemistry is over rated. These are professional ballers, a few practice sessions and it's all gravy.
How?

hehehe he said I am clueless. I am in a good mood today, as I am going to watch my team after 4 months. So, I'll be nice:

Team Chemistry -- this relates to how the team vibes with each other, as human beings. Whether they like each other and are able to co-exist with each other. Omeruo spoke about this yesterday, and you can see the interview in the CAMP NEWS thread.

Playing Chemistry-- this relates to how the team reacts to each other, tactically, on the pitch. When one player receives the ball, does he already know the movement of his teammates? Can he read the reaction of his teammates? What sort of pass are his teammates anticipating? etc etc

You did say "Defensive Chemistry." I know you didnt know this before, but that is actually a thing. Its the relationship between the defenders-- the two CBs, the CB and the wing/full back beside him. The relationship between the goalkeeper and his defense, collectively. So, yes, defensive chemistry is also important, as you need the defenders, as well as the goalkeeper, to strike up and understanding of their roles and the positioning of their partners. For instance, some goalkeepers are afraid of crosses. A good defensive chemistry demands that his CBs know this and move for crosses, trying to clear the crosses, since the goalkeeper isnt good enough in that regard. On the flip side, if the goalkeeper loves to come out, the defenders know that. And they dont have to rush into his space... they allow him come out to pick up the ball. etc etc..

let me know if yoi'd like to know more. In the history of CE, the goal has always been to educate people.

So is it possible for a player to have "playing chemistry" without "lunch room chemistry"? Will that in any way influence the "sitting on the bench chemistry" ?

Hmm.. you are up to something here. relying on the definitions provided above, a player can have playing chemistry over a period of time and tactical training, without having lunch room chemistry . (Team Chemistry). This happened at Manchester United between Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke.

The sitting on the bench chemistry also comes under "Team Chemistry."

Your ability to break these down to sub-categories is very commendable. It seems you are learning quite fast.

Please, let us know if you have any further questions.

A yes to Nigeria would have been a no to England. I hardly think any English born up and coming player in his right senses with such momentum behind him would have rejected England at the time. If the boy wants to play for Nigeria, it's his birth right and I'm sure the coaching crew would welcome the decision regardless of what anybody here thinks. All this WC chance is overrated nonsense.

It's nobody's birthright to play for Nigeria. Rather it's a privilege and an honor.
It's his birthright to want and be considered to play for Nigeria. Not saying every Nigerian must get on the pitch in SE colours.

If his interest is genuine we can look into his case after the World Cup.

He was offered a chance to be part of our project in the early stages of of building our team but chose to turn up his nose at us. Now that the heavy lifting has been done he wants to come and reap where he did not sow?

Na lie!

Not necessarily. For instance, in the U.S, once you renounce your citizenship, you can never get it back. Although, I concede that this is a different scenario.

:woot: "let us know" ke, you are the one I am asking questions o, how many of you are in there?
There are quite a lot of us here on CEs. If you scroll back to my earlier post, I stated that "in the history of CE, the goal has always been to educate people," and we will continue to do that. I suspect that is why you are here? So, please, let us know how we can carry you along. Its not easy, but we will do it. :D

Typical, you can't stand on your own so you need help from the crowd :rotf:

At CEs we have always advocated for strength in unity. Think about it, how else can we educate you and bring you up with the right information? It was always taken a village to raise a child.

Not defending the lad because I have abused him many times in the past but could Jordan's issue with his last name be a result of the English purposely mangling it just like they have done with Kelechi? How come no one has gone over the top over his? To Jordan's credit he didn't change the spelling of his last name to make it sound more Britico as some of our sons have done nor opted to have a name change to completely hide his identity.
2 of the finest indigenous coaches Nigeria ever had lost in a space of 4 days. Dear Lord, is this a sign that you are taking away from us what we failed to appreciate? I pray for forgiveness of our sins. I pray for the humility to recognize our wrongs and the humbleness and wisdom to right our ways.

REST IN PEACE COACH STEPHEN KESHI!!! REST IN PEACE COACH AMODU SHAIBU!!!

At CE, we try our best to slowly educate people who have asked for education. Just think about it! Moving forward, when you discuss about FOOTBALL chemistry with anyone, you can inform them that you know the different facets of chemistry, as it relates to football. And you can even brag at being able to breakdown different sub-categories of chemistry. All thanks to CEs.

Please, do not hesitate to contact us, any time, if you have any questions. Just post it here, and someone will definitely respond to you.
