I think most CEs wish the lad well.

The issue that seems to dog his career is consistency. It can't be a bad thing to highlight those issues can it?

No but it is a bad thing when most of those CE's only see mistakes that he makes and harps on it.
We have been brainwashed by the Premier League that it's the best in the world. Nonsense. It's the best brand
Roy Keane: ITV 02/25/14

He says that we are currently "brainwashed" into believing that the Premier League is the best competition in the world, and that we are now a long way off dominating the Champions League again.
Gary Neville: Mirror: 12/23/14

I think Spain’s by far the best league.

I work with a Serbian guy believe me those guys worship Alex mitrovic
a guy who is currently playing championship football in England
I believe the unwavering support he gets from his countrymen fuels his incredible displays for his country

It would be wonderful if all Nigerians could rally round Iwobi.
and give him our unconditional support

Performances like Sunday's don't surprise me one bit
He has football intellect, skills ,balance. flair.
All he needs is consistency and better goal instincts

this is an ELITE footballer who could have chosen England as many of his peers have done
instead he chose to play for us at the height of his career.
Not only that he has royal blood in him.
The captaincy of the SE is his by right.
Lets not wait for the world to honor this kid before we do.

Not sure about captaincy as I dont see captain qualities yet. You dont need to wear an armband to show leadership skills on and off the pitch.

That said I agree with the support for ALL Nigerian players.

The next 'natural' captain I see as Ndidi in about 4-5 years.
Inbetween Mikel and him will probably be 'intermediate' captains Ekong (who might not command a permanent slot in the team as others emerge) and Moses who I do not really see as a leader.

Iwobi will probably be Ndidi's vice.

You read it here first. :thumb:

I have often criticized iwobi but I must admit that he seems to have stepped his game up lately compared to earlier in the season. I could be wrong but he also looks a little slimmer these days. He now has to work on consistency to get to the level he deserves. If used approximately at the wc he could be a game changer for us. The only issue now is to determine which position best suits him. That I don’t know.

Its only one game, he needs to become more consistent.

Iwobi should be our starting AM. We will move the ball quicker if he plays that role. He's more mobile than Mikel, always looking to make 1-2 passes, and his off the ball movement is very good. I prefer playing Mikel in a deeper role as a CM/DM. We can play Simon or someone else on the wings in his place.

Btw, my judgement is not based just on the highlights on this thread.

This playmaker position is by far Rohr’s biggest headache. To be honest, he left it too late to fix the problem.
