Moses comes in. Defensive steel.

Conte withdrawing back into his shell. Going defensive again.

Alonso looked to give Giroud a hattrick.

Giroud is useless. Arsenal has the great Danny Welbeck.
Can a coach relegate two teams in the same season? Has that ever happened?
Mark Hughes is beating some records here ... But no worries, he will still get another coach job before Sol Campbell even gets a sniff !!!

At 2-0 up, a smart Southampton manager, if he had analyzed the game better, might have taken a decision to use an attacking substitute as a defensive tactic. For instance, Charlie Austin for Tadic, which would allow Long continue to run the channel, but have a penalty box presence, near him in Austin.

And why this? It potentially keeps the Chelsea defensive line deeper, creates gap between it an the midfield, and more importantly changes the natural inclination for his own players to drop too deep.

He might have thought twice about subbing Ward-Prowse, his best setpiece delivery man.

And finally, he might have reacted more in urging his defensive players to push up the line, rather than stand on the sideline and look pretty!

Liverpool, European Champions 2005.

We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. We used to think before then that if the other players are better, you have to lose. After that we learned anything is possible – you can beat better teams by using tactics." Jurgen Klopp

Kudos to Conte for the changes. He should habe made that change at half not waiting till 2 goals down..
He almost dabaru the whole thing by switching back to 343. I just think that formation/tactics is now stale as teams have figured out how to set up against it.

Well taken goals by Giroud.
Lampard: 101 goals and counting.......
