It is better for all of our players to be done with seasonal play at this point - since we are 2 months away from the WC. Not only is the rest much needed, it prepares them better for transition into camp and preparation for the upcoming friendlies. So, Ekong is fine. Even in cases where some players have not played regular footie in the past few months, with camp training and a few friendlies - they might actually perform better at the WC-- since they would not only be fresher but won't have to worry about peaking too soon.

Not good news but only one month and a few games to the end of the season.

While we're at it, just watched the highlights of the Nantes game.
Was surprised to see Awaziem take their free kick from just outside the 18.
Excellent right-footed 'up and over' which forced a brilliant save from the keeper in the 90th minute.
It appears we have a set piece taker in him.

so after one free kick, you came up with this conclusion, Moses simon has scored a free kick in green, Kele as well etc etc... so how you go answer that one as well

Let Ekong enjoy his rest. Just keep him away from FKs at the WC

In my very last sentence, the 'a' was meant to be 'another'.
Does that solve your major dilemma? :P

More seriously, I think it was interesting to note that a team looking for a key victory was awarded a 90th-minute free kick on the edge of the box. They wouldn't entrust that responsibility to just anybody. So it suggests Awaziem has been delivering with his set pieces in training - something neither you nor I ever knew was part of his repertoire.
By and large a good thing to know and something he might have over those competing for the final central defender spot(s) in the SE

No. Better to keep form and maintain fitness.

Meanwhile Godfrey Oboabona has been consigned to the dustbin of SE history.

his first duty is to defend....for me, I don't really rate him... he was woeful vs SA as well as Serbia. ...
