Sir Alex Ferguson hospitalised.

Former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is in hospital and will undergo emergency surgery on Saturday night, say Sky sources.

The 76-year-old is in a "serious condition" and needs an operation.

Ferguson won 13 league titles in 26 years at Manchester United before he stepped down in 2013.

He was recently seen for the United clash with Arsenal at Old Trafford when he presented departing Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger some end-of-season silverware.

One can only imagine the state that Ogbuefi was in prior to his emergency surgery. Haemorrhagic stroke presumably, hopefully the signs were picked up early, to see someone of such stature any less than himself, would be indigestible.

^Correction, first line management for a stroke in Nigeria is to splash cold water on the victim’s face followed by nonsensical wailing and incomprehensible incantations. By Sunday, the body sweats in an oven hot mortuary, day 1 of the mandatory 10, as Ndichie and other revered Ezeigbo Madus jostle for positions at the memorial service’s high table.
