Ozil still has £36m worth of contract left by my calculation. If he does not want to leave, there is not much Arsenal can do. He could sit in his yard playing Fortnite for the next 2 years if he wanted. The club offered him those wages, he did not steal them.

:taunt: :taunt: :taunt: :taunt:
He can't. I think he is contractually obligated to show up for work. So yes, he can come to training, do the absolute minimum and then go home and play fortnite. Arsenal is fighting a losing battle here.

I totally agree Stan has got away with murder @arsenal - but Ozil isn't the one who has been briefing the press against himself all this time - especially when our main weakness was conceding goals.
A worthy point - Emery has had the opportunity to coach one of the most expensively assembled squads on the Planet & still struggled to outperform Jardim.
Less leaks & briefing to the Press. It has worked a treat @ManU for Ole Gunnar Solskjær.

When we bought Ozil 5 years ago, he was in his prime and was supposed to lead Arsenal team full of veterans. He failed.

So, you are saying that we should give the keys to Arsenal to a player who:
- Has missed 30% of his games in his prime for strange reasons.
- When he finally shows up to games, he has been well below average in 2/3 of those games.
- Is now over 30 and his body is breaking down even more
- is incapable mentally to adapt his game

You saying, we should do whatever it takes to accommodate him at the expense of developing the other talent we have and giving others a chance to become leaders?

Are you blaming it on Emery?
Ozil himself said he didn't want to go anywhere. So, he rather play games against BATE Borossov instead of facing Real Madrid, Barcelona, ...etc in the CL?
And this is the player Arsenal fans are begging to play?

"Here is a proven Fact:
If Ozil was so great, teams would have been lining up to sign him. Ozil is trash. And Arsenal was the only club in the world dumb enough to sign him."

That's what i was responding to. If you want respect, you extend it - benching Ozil, briefing against him is not Arsenal values - you can't come back & ask him to help you out. He has earned the right by having a contract to name his terms - he says, you want me out - permanent deal elsewhere(not loan transfer) - heck, you really want him out - let him go on a free.
ManU could do with Alexis out but who pays - you sign on those dotted lines - meet the obligation. Ozil is a World cup winner, he hasn't unpicked himself - we've a gaffer with few options acting like a dictator - that's not leadership or good man management.

@Bep, lead a squad of what to where exactly? At no point was this team ever strengthened with the intention of competing. Ozil, Sanchez were brought in to fool the fickle. The squad was not good enough, crippled further by various other nonsenses, Roy of the Rovers seldom survives outside of the comic strip.

1st Wenger won't do that.

2nd I am an Arsenal fan, from birth, before Kanu. I am no newbie nor fair weather fan.

3rd I may watch Shitty (Like I did watch Barca/Ronaldinho, and even Bolton/Okocha) for pure football artistry but do not support them, nor will I support any other team but Arsenal.

@ coach , you get time sha.

Our supporters are never satisfied, we complain and moan about what is wrong and hide behind loose half thought through solutions, Now OZil is the issue and not one of the Ozil haters has come up or see any other way out the conundrum we find ourselves.

The only the keep hurting our eyes with is get rid of Ozil ( a player on a 5 year contract !! ) how is that even a plausible solution ? Yet they come here and say the same things over and over again. !!

Unless our management na "akpa" they will call out Unai soon - it does not make sense to burn 350K a week because the player does not fit your system, we are not choski or manshitty or manure that can afford to keep Sanchez on the bench for 450K and play 5 times since January.

________ Another crazy Tum lcade with tea ( abi na tea laced with tea suggestion __________________________________________________________________________________

Now abeg - We had a similar issue with Arteta when we got him from Everton, he became a liability at 10 and I remember we moved him backwards to play the bottom of the diamond role till he stopped playing for us .. Can we trust Ozil with such a role ? Although technically he would be competing with Xhaka - I do feel he will play that role better than Xhaka abi wetin una think ?

Hmmm reading that article sheds some light for re-signing Ozil at the wage...its very subtle but its all there... A replacement for him at that time would have cost the club 100M in transfer fees ....*** which if we read in between the lines Arsenal likely look for a replacement ...

Second point ...resigning him was free... ( aka no transfer fees ) .......

So getting a replacement would have been 100M + 68M in wages = 168 M

Resigning Ozil was ( 0 + 68M ) = 68M

Mood, clicks & Juicing!!!!

Serious people have found a way to make an argument for keeping a player giving the value of equivalent skilled ones in the market to
MLK dances - desperadoes don't need booze.
Sky Sports played the Fox News card 1stly by not letting us hear the question - it's like politicos and opinion polls.
You can develop AW's argument about market value to present day dilemma for clubs & fans regarding player fees & fan expectations -
Coutinho(Liverpool - Barca), Neymar(Barca - PSG), Alexis(Arsenal - ManU).
----------------------------------------

“I feel that the length of the contract has nothing to do normally with the selection of the team. But sometimes there are special cases.

“Most of the time now we think when we sign a player for five years we have a good player for five years. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that they practice, they play their best. Because they might be in their comfort zone.

“He has a contract but the problem is that if you want to buy a player like him you have to spend £100million.“To buy players of top, top quality you need £100million. So the decision you have to make is whether you re-sign the player, who costs us nothing, or do we have the money to buy a new player?

This is a classic. It is not the Onion because you guys are easily sold.

If you have listened to the interviews Wenger gas given about Ozil in the past week, and he has given 3, you will notice how he has tried to strike that balance of not criticising Ozil or the club.

Indeed he has been very supportive of Ozil, I remember when he talked about Ozil being the type of character who needs support when talking about his situation in the German national team.

Is it not common sense, which they say is not common, to stop and ask yourself a question. Knowing what you know of the man's character, is he the type to make any type of controversial comment especially in the light of how delicate things are between club and player.

In the context of the interviews, is the response above in context or out of context? Is Wenger the sort to get carried away and make those sorts of comments knowing how excellent he is with the media.

Any any level of common sense, when you read something like the above, you stop and say to yoursel, hold on! Something is not right here. You owe yourself an obligation to look it up, and be sure before you make any conclusions. If you don't, then something is seriously wrong. Of course something is seriously wrong.

Wenger has been willfully misquoted, inasmuch as he was talking about 2 seperate things and they have cobbled them together to make it look like criticism of Ozil.

I ask everyone here to go watch the whole interview then come and respond to what I have written. I beg you all to do what I ask, if you want the truth.

As for Aniks and TG, hete us a friendly advice. Next time before you cream in your pants. Make an effort to see the interview yourself instead of relying on clickbait media. :taunt: :taunt: :taunt:
