To say Emmanuel Eboue's in a sunken place - truly a downward spiral looks about right. He doesn't seem to know how to shake things off - being arrested for some crime makes for a scary near future - that youngman needs a real support system & saving.

Witsel is a defensive liability. Good player, but tends to drift far too much, disappeared entirely vs Japan. He needs someone beside him to remind him of his role in the team. What Belgium get with two, Deputy Igwe France gets with one. Theres no need for two defensive midfielders these days, that being said, Witsel isn't a defensive midfielder.

Great performances at the WC doesn't always translate to club football - that Witsel has played either in Russia or China for some 5 odd yrs speaks volumes. Fellaini, while resigned by ManU is hardly played as a DM or MF ball winner.
You need players who can stick to tactical setups but also with a good nose for leaks.

If You spend all the money in the world w/o the right coaching & direction, it'll be another wasted season. For a while, talented youngsters were stagnating in terms of their football growth & newbies like Sead Kolasinac who came in showing a lot of promise but struggled to play as part of a back 4 didn't seem to get the help to correct that situation.
We have a guy here targeting the DM spot - glaringly obvious but not sorted forever, depth at the back, looking for a winger or two,
committed to pressing & possession football - let's see how the preseason goes, we've a lot of players in for preseason cos they weren't @WC - the signs are good.
Our main problem for yrs has been mentality & work ethic - gotta sort that out regardless of the roster.

Besides, we will play it like Uruguay, pack the midfield, stay tight and organised, knowing we have attackers with pace and finishing to win games.

It will be defensive and pragmatic counter attacking football.
