Spoke to my friend at Nike. He says if you see any site that says 'preorder', know that you will not get that shirt till after the tournament because Nike won't be shipping more of the shirts till early August so buyer beware.SylverEagles wrote:Thanks man! The site I listed is california based but ships worldwide I think

With that said, these guys are out of Boston, they're doing preorders on some of the items though: https://www.wegotsoccer.com/storeitems?ss=nigeria
Chap laughed and said the retailers from Canada didn't order a lot so what you see is what you get.

The ultimate hope is one day, we have our own sportswear manufacturers who can reliably supply our national teams in all sports because in a sense you're right, one way or the other someone's getting rich off Nigerians here. Big time.
We have been brainwashed by the Premier League that it's the best in the world. Nonsense. It's the best brand

I think Spain’s by far the best league.

True however if the Nigerian is manufacturing in Nigeria, has offices in Nigeria, etc. E dey contribute somehow even if the majority of money goes to him.
Not too long ago, Senegal had a UAE manufacturer making their jerseys. It's insane.

Nigeria received their cut of the sales when they signed the deal with Nike, sales are hardly going to change anything.platinum wrote:The problem with doing that is you don't actually help Nigeria. The sales do count, just not as much as most people think. The major chunk of what Nigeria gets came from the initial deal but there's an agreed percentage for each product sold also in the deal.kalani JR wrote:Nigeria received their cut of the sales when they signed the deal with Nike, sales are hardly going to change anything.platinum wrote:The problem with doing that is you don't actually help Nigeria. What's the source of this 3 million jerseys? They don't know what they're doing, they could have sold more.nanijoe wrote:they sold 3 million items in 5 minutes , and you think they dont know what they are doing? They are selling this one as a fashion item, not an ordinary world cup jersey

Nigeria World Cup kit sells out in minutes as fakes flood Lagos markets
Stephanie Busari and Chris Giles, CNN

Since Nike unveiled its streetwise design for the Nigeria's World Cup team kit three months ago, there has been a frenzy online from people eager to splash out $90 for a shirt.
https://www.cnn.com/2018/06/01/africa/n ... index.htmlThe Nigeria Football Football Federation (NFF) entered into a three-and-half-year partnership with Nike to make the country's kits in 2015. The deal was worth $3.75m and a $500,000 bonus if the "Super Eagles" qualified for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, according to Goal.com.
The NFF previously had a deal with German sportswear brand Adidas, joining countries such as Australia, Brazil, England, France, the Netherlands, Portugal, South Africa, the US and South Korea.
Meanwhile England's 12-year kit deal with Nike is reportedly worth $457 million

Being in Supply Chain industry, I'm actually happy Aba boys winning. Nike forecasting-team underestimated the Nigerian market. Also by delaying it and not making easily accessible to Nigerians in Nigeria/US/UK/etc.
Re: NIKE NIGERIA WORLD CUP GEAR AVAILABLE 6/1 AT 10:00 AM ED
We need better negotiators to do the next deal.
Winners do it the right way.

I don't think its a supply chain problem...Nike's entire World Cup strategy has been based around the Nigerian Jersey. I suspect there will be spurts of availability over the next few weeks, to go along with all the back ordered jerseys

This is 100% marketing driven not about giving the product to everyone. Scarcity drives lust and desire. The relationship with Nigeria started rocky but it has grown up fast and Nigeria is the only Nike federation who was willing to let Nike go 'wild' with designs, so they crafted the 'edgier' marketing around us.
Nike does have supply chain issues FWIW but not around this particular thing.

A)Are Nike releasing the Vapor Match version for the home and away kit?
B)Would they also allow customization ?

The new deal next year will be worth more than $100 million plus a bigger in the gear sales. Nike's gamble paid off in a major way for them, but Nigeria is set to get even bigger payday for their decision to go with Nike.Kneedeep wrote:Aba boys be winning....Nigeria World Cup kit sells out in minutes as fakes flood Lagos markets

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-adid ... SKCN0Z60FRAdidas said last week it expects to sell 1.3 million Germany jerseys this year, helped by the European championship. That is more than the 1 million it sold in 2012 when the last Euro tournament took place, but down from the 3 million shirts it shifted in 2014, when Germany won the World Cup.
$3.5 million for three years, many miscellaneous basketball players get that. Allegedly, Drake(forward for Secret Babymamas FC of Toronto)got over $10 million from Nike. They weren't doing us a favor, neither were Adidas.1naija wrote: The new deal next year will be worth more than $100 million plus a bigger in the gear sales.
