Oh we went down 2-0 in one half and the world is about to come to an end?

We also went down 2 against Argentina and won that game.

What about the 5-1 defeat in a friendly before the '98 WC?

After a long flight from Nigeria, we started slowly away from home, worked our way into the game, and ended actually stronger than England. What's so strange about that?

anyone blaming shehu for this game should look at minute 3.30 of this video to see what he faced all game. I repeat, he did nothing wrong this game.

How can you say Shehu did nothing wrong? Did you forget the atrocious cross he did that found nobody but England's keeper in the first half?
2 of the finest indigenous coaches Nigeria ever had lost in a space of 4 days. Dear Lord, is this a sign that you are taking away from us what we failed to appreciate? I pray for forgiveness of our sins. I pray for the humility to recognize our wrongs and the humbleness and wisdom to right our ways.

Haba you are talking my statement too literal. If that the above is your standard of measure, then every single player on that pitch did something wrong if you go back and analyze the game tape. There will be an mishit pass or pass that was too heavy etc.

My point was towards Shehu's defensive performance and positioning for which he was slagged in the game. Sterling and Young overran his wing because of the formation and lack of help from Iwobi, and not because of anything Shehu was particularly doing wrong as a RB.

The under the bridge players he is advocating for were trashed my Morocco at CHAN and don't appear better. Also Nigeria did not qualify for the worldcup in the 80s when the players played in Nigeria.

He really does. Matter of 'fact' we should dump Rohr for him.
The way he freshen his lips and massage his face is enough to convince me he knows football.

And he was rightly ignored. The coach did not even respond to him. Rohr is already aware that he is an agent :tic:

Onazi, Joel Obi and to some extent Moses and Ekong are the players that played below par.

Joel Obi maybe on standby except he performs well in training. According to the coach, he is not fit.

Kai, this guy is wack. Really needs his mother to talk to him about his appearance and mannerisms.

Who was the player who ducked away from winning the ball deep in the second half - around 83minute or so? The ball was up in the air and the player decided to dodge it rather than win it and it led to an England counter. I think it was Idowu... the abuse he got from the fans around me was justified.

A team with first class organization and support structures will not have this kind of travel schedule....
I guess a first class organization will have found a way to overcome the waterlogged pitch that prevented them from training on it.

BTW, you left out Port Harcourt .
No wonder u are a Spuds fan!

Its the travel schedule stupid!!!
Form is temporary; Class is Permanent!
Liverpool, European Champions 2005.

We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. We used to think before then that if the other players are better, you have to lose. After that we learned anything is possible – you can beat better teams by using tactics." Jurgen Klopp
