I concur. I now think unless he plays/starts in a deeper role then his presence could prove detrimental to the team's shape and structure.

Very instructive write up TJX. We really do have people here that think and provide analysis that offer food for thought (whether it turns out correct or incorrect). The assessment comes from a place of rigor and know how. The Mikel decision in my view was the most critical decision to the outcome of the Croatia game. I am convinced Rohr got it wrong. I am also convinced Rohr has taken about 4 players of "yesterday" to today's tournament. Yesterday's loss came down to Rohr (primarily).

I hope the part about how consequential the game against Croatia is turns out to be incorrect. keyword is hope as i cannot argue against the reasoning behind it.
