Well in Nigeria's defense, we did have a quieter year than we have had in the past 10 years or so. Our forwards came into their element late into the season.

We will probably be higher up this list, next season. With Iheanacho getting into his stride, Moses (Well Moses is obviously a wingback, but his accuracy has been bad, so it can only get better), Nwankwo is relegated so there is that, Etebo is in the Championship.

Musa has left the Big 5 Leagues for now, Ndidi may very well find his scoring boots again however. Anyway we will see. Senegal is obviously the standout this season, but I will argue that we are better than Egypt in this stat, due to the depth of forwards, not to mention the combined tally and depth of assists and goals. Of course Egypt may counter that their domestic league is better, but let us leave that argument alone for now.

Tbite, at the end of the day we are only as strong as our home league.

All those other countries have strong leagues at home. Argentina for instance have Boca Juniors.

Some temperamental Argentine players go back there even in their prime to end their careers there.

Then you have terrific coaches and an excellent national governance of the game.

Nor be yam.

You are right.

We do not have a comparative advantage in most areas.

When in comes to home leagues, our league is lacking, when it comes to Big 5 leagues we are lacking, when it comes to organization (although Pinnick has made ground) we are lacking. The major thing we had going for us was unpredictability, or what I would rather term dynamism or explosiveness, and we have not designed our team to produce that consistently.
