IGHALO must be dropped

Post by john12 »

Enough is Fvcking enough. Strikers main responsibility is to score goals not hold the ball. I am sick and tired of this obsession with holding the ball because there’s no reason kelechi should be on the bench for ighalo.

No ighalo should not be dropped...we need his experience and also he played in the qualifiers so he must not be dropped. We need him to play all the 2 remaining matches

He needs to sit on the bench. Iheanacho did more in 15 minutes than what Ighalo did in 75.

kelechi and Ighalo are both useless
That's the reason one is in China and the other is on the bench of a middle of the road EPL team

This is not qualifier but the actual World Cup. I have saying it Spence the past 4 friendlies tat ighalo isn’t good enough to be our main striker. We need a goal scorer upfront

The easy thing to do is to blame Ighalo. But did Iwobi or Mikel or Moses give him any quality service or support?

He’s part of the problem. We have two snails in Mikel and Ighalo playing up front. We keep recycling the same rubbish each game and expecting a different result.

But how many quality chances did they create for him?

The best Nigerian strikers could score goals from nothing. This Ighalo guy has always been a -1.

He isn't the problem but he is also not a solution to anything except coming on the pitch to help the SE hold onto a lead.
Otherwise it's almost criminal for Kelechi to be sitting on the bench for 70-80 minutes....for a team without much creativity and needing a striker who can seize a half chance or try to create something out of nothing....and then be expected to make magic in the final 10-15 minutes.

If Iwobi isn't in the center and Kelechi isn't starting up top on Friday than we know Rohr isn't serious.

Even the great Yekini(RIP) had players like Finidi, Amuneke, Adepoju, Oliseh and etc creating chances him.

Ighalo is not a great striker, but he is decent. But lets be fair, he was not given any help today.

Then why is he been singled out on this thread if he wasn't the problem?

Even Kelechi Iheanacho would have struggled today.

How can we know?

Ighalo lost the ball on a few occasions and he had about 3 fouls. Kelechi entered and our offense began to flow well.

In a game like this we need a striker who posed a threat .... as much as I despise Musa I would have played him as a striker to occupy that backline and create space for Moses and Iwobi .... poor strategy from Rohr today

He was a big part of the problem. Iheanacho would have found it tough, but whenever he gets the ball he looks and thinks about how to create danger. And more often than not he succeeds.

Yes a 2nd half sub running against tired legs. BTW how many goals did Kelechi score today?

How many shots on goal did Nigeria have?
