Highly likely they'll be in the contest longer than Nigeria. Lots of hype, flatter only to deceive, but think they'll go one better than Woy's wobblers. If they can do to Tunisia what they did to Naija with absolute ease in the first 45, could bag themselves some points on the scoreboards. Ex[pect Tunisia to put up a fight and get stuck in.

I have a bad feeling this English team will go far especially with the big guns floundering thus far.

I formally submit my resignation from ABEG.

They actually have a good side this World Cup.

I actually ranked them ranked as No. 5 in the World Cup (behind Brazil, Belgium, France and Spain)

Yep. Didn't fancy Germany much & still don't. Wrote that on the forum.

I am a big ABEG person & it goes well beyond soccer. I knock heads with my parents, wife & siblings over it all the time. My resignation is only temporary though, but I don't like participating in a lost cause (They will get out of their group)

They however have a good team now & will deal with Germany if they meet on the green grass.

I don't see Germany beating any of my top 5 in this World Cup.

Well, Germany is due for a nice WC trashing anyway. Ghana and Algeria had them on the ropes in Brazil, time for an African country or someone else to give them a really good trashing.

Germany is overrated.

based on what?

Based on everyone labelling them as favourites, even if there a a number of teams that smart money will be on if they face Germany.

Brazil, France, Spain and Begium for starters.

Maybe even England.

I for add SE, but I no wan wahala dis Monday morning.

Have no fear, the English punditocracy will soon awaken from their slumber to destroy the morale of the team as usual. My prediction - by half time if England is not up :D

If Tunisia comes out to play it'll be a glorious day.

We have been brainwashed by the Premier League that it's the best in the world. Nonsense. It's the best brand

He says that we are currently "brainwashed" into believing that the Premier League is the best competition in the world, and that we are now a long way off dominating the Champions League again.

I think Spain’s by far the best league.

Let us suspend our activities for this World Cup.
The signs were clear. They actually have a decent team. They will not win, but will likely play 7 games.

Funny thing is, with a half-decent coach, we can put out a better team than England or almost any side in this World Cup (The only sides we would have probably needed luck & a fast start with are Brazil & Belgium). Instead we had a dim-witted German saboteur in charge.

Anyway, its all good.

Come on England!

About bloody time too. After all, we have got the world glued to EPL and we already have the U17 and U20 trophies. How best can the world repay us than give us the World Cup to make a record clean sweep?

7 games for England as predicted.

Can they win it?

They are not as good as Belgium or France, but those 2 have to face off.

I think England just shades Croatia in the Semis though. Croatia may have the more accomplished players but England is playing slightly better. The likes of Lingard are stepping up and having the 'Etebo' effect. Energiser Bunnies having effects in different areas of the pitch and being a nuisance to the opposition.

Funny thing is, this England team, and France to some extent, is playing like Nigeria should. They have the 2nd youngest squad, which means they have pace to burn and turn games to a race track. They take chances, have a good keeper & an OK defence, but don't sit back to take on pressure.
https://www.express.co.uk/sport/footbal ... tgalleries

Too bad we were burdened with a condescending and limited German dummy, who had us sitting back and soaking up pressure for 5 halves out of 6, and sat on his substitutions like he was saving it for his pension.
