He did ok, and I like the seconds he took off the clock with that "broken wrist". I would prefer he becomes the Mikel of Afcon 2013 again though with fewer passes backwards, impeccable incisive distribution and excellent defensive covering.

Wasn't that what he did today though?

I don't know about world class as he is too specialist. What he does though, he does very very well - shielding the ball, protecting the back line and spraying passes to drive attack.

Mikel has had a great career. Legendary stuff, didn't realize he has had such a great career. He should also include African Under 20 champion. World U20 silver medal.

Look at his twitter profile.

When I said this here pointing out that he had no business playing as playmaker, some funny people called me names. One really needs patience to be a CE forumer!

John Mikel Obi was fantastic today. His cross field passes were accurate and helped to stretch the icelanders. When he his the long ball too, they threatened to set Kele free. JMO has to be a 6 in this World Cup and not a 10. Gernot Rohr has learned his lesson.

... a lot of patience! The irritating part is many of the people talking the trash BARELY know what they are talking about and when told they are WRONG, they RETORT to being obnoxious and rude

Mikel was immense today. Midfield player rating: Mikel 9, Ndidi = 7, and Etebo 5.

I believe JMO playing in the 6 role is more effective than a #10 role

he is good in his DM role and able to see the field better for his passes

No lie he did very well today. But he does not need to dwell on the ball too much.

Mikel was carried by Ndidi and Etebo who are the true monsters of our midfield. He is the third wheel.

Not as if he loses the ball and he barely dwells on it and is quick with the one or two touch passing.

You didn't watch the match or didn't have your spectacles on. Don't make yourself look silly. All 3 were outstanding today.
