Can Eagles repeat the second half performance in every match

Post by Elexus »

Nigeria's second half display was excellent. Until the second half, Nigeria never exhibited such a class. Eagles chased every ball, fought as though their lives depended on it. Until the second half, there was no hint, Eagles could perform in such a manner. Every Eagles' attack in the second half looked very promising. Musa's curtain raiser was reminiscent of Emanuel Amunike's strike against Zambia in 1994 Afcon final--- it was world class.

His blistering pace and performance was his best in Nigerian shirt. I am very happy that Ramadan is over. In 2014 Musa was observing a Ramadan and after he managed to score two against Argentina, he was totally exhausted. Today, Musa could have played for another 90 minutes.
The positives in this match are many. The negatives though are few and they are crucial. First, we have given away two penalties in two matches. This must cease forthwith. Ebuehi must check his emotion. That penalty was absolutely unnecessary. The ball was going out for a goal kick and if not, the ball was being protected by another player. We are still not defending set-pieces properly.
Altogether, this was a very satisfactory performance.

True, but we are doing much better. And unlike other teams Argentina isn't much of a corner threat. They are one of the smallest team at the World Cup.
