My hope and prediction is that we will have a winner that had never won the World Cup. Of teams remaining, as of today, only France and England have won it. I am hoping those two do not even get to the final game. Enough of this stranglehold on the Cup by a few oligopolistic countries.

Ditto!!! And this desire was the sole reason I was happy with Brazil's loss yesterday. I hope Sweden does the badly needed this afternoon and then we will have only France to worry about.

There were new winners in 1998 and 2010. Not much of a stranglehold but a new winner would be nice.
