I got you, but I give the ref the benefit of the doubt sha as he did make the initial call regardless of the majority Colombian crowd.

Sadio Mane and his Senegal team-mates know a draw will take them through to the knockout stages of the World Cup. They are currently second in Group H on four points.

Colombia need a victory to guarantee a place in the next stage. They could go through with a draw, although they would be relying on Poland beating Japan, while a win will either see them finish top or second depending on results elsewhere.

The guy has done nothing all world cup. There was even a time there where he was controlling the ball like me--i.e. no control at all. Not sure what his problem is. Is it that he is tired after a long EPL season plus going all the way in the Champs League? He was a holy terror in the final of the Champs League; I expected him to carry it over to the WC, but so far, he has been a near wastepipe.

But he's not warranted the benefits of a doubt because the standard and proof are objective and not subjective. Sanchez either touched mane or didn't. On contact with the ball. The contact is what makes it a foul regardless of whether it was hard or soft contact. Initially, he called a foul. Had he not called a pk and consulted VAR, then he'd be justified subjectively (like the nigeria/ Rojo incident). But once you've made the call, to reverse the evidence must be black and white clear.

I noticed this guys arrogance in the earlier games. Looks like the stardom is getting into his head. Pity, because he's a damn good player.

Mane is scaring opponents. He is thus making space for others to run into. Niang in particular has benefitted from this.

Maybe the pressure of carrying his country in a WC is a bit much to bear. It's mental not physical.

you guys are forgetting that there was a Mane before Liverpool. He's a very good player, but I suspect the Liverpool setup optimizes his skill set.

Niang is stupid!

Liverpool, European Champions 2005.

We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. We used to think before then that if the other players are better, you have to lose. After that we learned anything is possible – you can beat better teams by using tactics." Jurgen Klopp
