Let’s be honest with ourselves how many WORLD CLASS players do SE have?? On current form only AHMED MUSA is Se WORLD CLASS player. The likes of Moses, iwobi, Iheanacho, ndidi, etebo all have the potential to become WORLD CLASS while MIKEL was a world class Dm in his prime.

Musa is a world class speedster. Not a world class football player. He is too inconsistent and his final ball is poor. A world class striker is T Henry or Suarez. A striker that is consistent and can create for his team mates. Look at how Suarez set up Cavani against Portugal. Can Musa do that?

Watch players like Henry or Mbappe or Suarez player. Watch Diego Costa play. Watch Lewandowski play. Watch our own Rashidi Yekini play(RIP). Those are world class strikers.

We need to go back to the grassroots and devise a better system for producing talented players if we're really serious about winning on the world stage. France, Spain, Germany, England (just recently) all had to go back to the drawing board when their performance dropped off. The likes of Henry, Anelka, Gallas, Ozil, Muller, Kroos etc all came from strategic systems to generate better talent. We're seeing some of the England boys coming through now.

Your point makes a lot of sense. And I agree with the premise of it.
There are exceptions at times, though ...

Please, Moses is not world class. Can't shoot accurately, makes bad decisions constantly and often has no end product.

Hmm... I don't know. But many have the potential and some are on their way there if they are consistent and get the right training and teams.

But I feel producing a world class team of talented & skilled players is better than producing a world class player in itself.

This is the first time someone has referred to Icelandic defenders as weak defenders. Go back and check their qualifying record where they topped a group including the Croatia that is now beating everyone for fun. They had a very stingy defense. That is what they do. They defend very well.

Anyway, every game is different. Every situation in every game is different. Sometimes, depending on the situation, a striker needs to release a quick shot to score.
