Is there an African playing in Africa that’ll be a star soon? Seems like we only have space debris in Africa and never see stars.

A friend of mine living in Ghana was wired a durty slap yesterday. He's still complaining of seeing stars. Does that count? :tic:

Davies has tremendous pace and power

Very happy for this guy. Much of his development will depend on Bayern loaning him out to the right club. I think this is the biggest club that a Canadian has played for since De Guzman was on Deportivo during their glory days.

I didn't realise Davies was heading to Bayern.

Forgot about Owen Hargreaves but he represented England.

Davies is Liberian by ancestry and citizenship but was born in a Ghanaian refugee camp. Moved to Canada when he was 5.

A couple of months back, he was playing against Houston. When he was headed to the tunnel, at half time, I called his name and when he looked my way, I told him to slow down and take it easy on us cos he was too pacy haha.

That kid is good. Please all you Europhile soccer game snubs should leave the MLS to #$% like us, we love it and the organization knows of our existence.

And for those calling him Ghanaian, he is actually Liberian.

He is already capped as a Canadian. His loyalty to Canada is commendable given how poor we are at the sport and he is young enough to have shopped himself around to gain citizenship in the US or a European powerhouse. Instead he decided at 16 he would represent Canada.

He was unveiled yesterday @ Bayern's game in the US. Will stay with the whitecaps till January 2019. ..

I really like the chap, and hope he blossoms ... Liberian refugee parents born in a Ghanian refugee camp and moved to canada @ 4. ..

Joined whitecaps @ 14 and capped for Canada 16 ....very commendable .

he is great, but at a risk of developing headless chicken tendencies. His development will need to be handled with care.
