No. Morocco scored two goals (2-2 draw with Sapin). The first scorer plays in Turkey (Boutaib) and he second scorer in Malaga (El-Nesri)chuks69 wrote:Morroco did.. One of their goal scorers was from the Moroccan league.. The highest goal scorer at CAn for local based players

The premise it is based on is where they played at the time the world cup started including the loan club for Lowndes. So Musa is attributed to CSKAAyo Akinfe wrote:Leicester scored three goals from Musa and McGuire!

How many Africa-based players were at the WC? Nigeria has 2 Africa based players - both GKs. Shame on them for not scoring from the subs bench!

I know you being facetious, but the point is not the one you are making. It is more, at least in my opinion, that as the gap grows between the European leagues and non European leagues and particularly African leagues the less statistical chance we have of making an impact at the World Cup.wiseone wrote:How many Africa-based players were at the WC? The goal scorers per continent was really a proxy for the make up of the teams and how not just African but pretty every continent is increasingly reliant on Europe to supply their teams with players, Africa having the greatest dependency and I would suggest therefore the least chance of ever winning talent notwithstanding

Useless stats unless we know how many African based players were fielded?
