That boneheaded decision to quit the National team only to fight for a place on the Chelsea bench has to rank up there with Brexit and voting for Trump as president, as the most boneheaded decisions ever.
To be honest it might help Nigeria if he stays away he was playing even when he wasn’t in form just because of the club he played for Kalu looks a good enough replacement.
Cant argue with your logic. He was not doing as effective a job on the RW as he was during qualification.
Still, I just dont get how he thought retiring from the NT was in his interest.

You all are funny. So help me understand why it will be in his best interest to keep playing NT football?
1. He has won ANC
2. He has been to 2 WC
3. He is a UK citizen and hence does not need NT appearances to play for most, if not any, EU club.
4. Not like NT pays him more than what he currently earns for Club.

IMO, I am indifferent to his decision to retire but curious to know why people feel it is not in his best interest.. :?: :?:

Dude has been disinterested since last year.
Glad he left for now until he gets back the same enthusiasm he once had playing for the Eagles.

Morata scores but ruled offside. Too close to call.

Should have been at least 4-0 up.. Just too sloppy in the final 3rd.. Make Sarri bring on Moses for Pedro

Na wa for Morata. Just release willian. Now he’s subbed off. I guess no Moses then.

has recieved the ball twice on the right side.

First ran with ball quickly and took a poor shot at goal which went out for goal kick

then he ran for a bit with ball and made a poor pass which was intercepted by defender

then just got ball again and passed to a teammate.

He looks quick with decent ball control.

recieves the ball in front of goal and has poor control loses it.

He moves in centrally while also operating out wide right. Decent movement, at least he doesn't just wait on the wings like some players.

Nna mehn, i tire for Morata. He needs to learn how to play for the team and then his goals will natural flow from there. That was a simple pass to Willian. Bobo is trying too hard..

We have too many up and comming wingers right now. If Moses head is not in it then it is best he stays away. He has been sub standard for Nigeria for a while now. I dont think we will miss him much at all to be honest. He has not brought his A game for a while.

Playing for the National Team is a symbiotic relationship for most professionals, especially those that represent big footballing countries like ours which get to participate in meaningful tournaments like the World Cup. That is just free brand awareness you just dont get at club level:

[/video]

Right now, VicMo can do with more playing time for his club. Playing for Naija would give him the awareness he needs to make himself more attracted to any club needing his services. At least, its better than hugging a bench 24/7
