We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. With Seychelles still to be played at home. Nigeria has qualified for the nations cup. There is no way Seychelles will get a result against Nigeria in Uyo.
Winners do it the right way.

Game over,...but that 2nd Ndidi yellow has spoilt this win for me.
Such a bonehead yellow to give up.

Burning clock.

bad idea, since we had to defend deep, and they could take the kick as soon as Ajayi entered the pitch.

Back to back against Libya 6 points.
Rohr cannot do better than that.
The boys need to be given credit especially for showing character at 2-2.

Its now a pattern for him. He saves subs to burn time at the end of games. That was one of the reasons he gave for why he didnt use more subs against argeintina at the WC. It makes no sense to me, but the man makes his mind up and sticks to it.

Game over - thank God. Libya 2 v 3 Nigeria. Decent performance but I worry that Rohr reacts rather slowly. Better 2nd half for Uzoho - we could have lost if not for him. I don’t think anyone can argue that Ighalo didn’t have a good game. We top the group. Next Bafana Bafana in Joburg.

Yeah, maybe but it still worked. The exchanged burned 30s in 2.30mins out of a 3min extra time game.

I came in watching the game at the 26th minute match. The game was so relaxed and pedestrian, like a stroll in the beach.

I was panicking and terrified. Nigeria controlling possession effortlessly? I had just woken up, so I wasn't sure what dimension I was inhabiting.

Then we conceded, 2-1 and the tempo went up, phew back to normalcy.....stress just the way I like it. :taunt: :taunt:

A couple of misplaced passes, some aerial concerns and undefended balls, made for a nostalgic end to the game. All's well that ends well in any case; the 3 points cannot be understated.
Buhari, whose two terms thankfully ground to a constitutional halt in May. (One thing both democracies have going for them is that their leaders, however bad, have only two terms to swing the wrecking ball.) Under Buhari, growth per head also plunged to 0. An economic agenda drawn from the dusty pages of a 1970s protectionist handbook failed to do the trick. Despite Buhari’s promise to tame terrorism and criminality, violence flourished. Despite his reputation for probity, corruption swirled. FT
