Yeah...like Nigeria writes cheques for them and says "Mr White Man, take. Please develop this player for us".ohenhen1 wrote:Well the white man will prefer to develop their own players than develop Nigerian players. It is extremely dumb for Nigerians to completely outsource player development. Extremely daft. We should be in the business of developing players. Nigeria have developed great players in the past.

England home grown restrictions .Damunk wrote:Yeah...like Nigeria writes cheques for them and says "Mr White Man, take. Europe restrictions on non EU players.
Yet some people are saying the NFF is not in the business of developing players. We should be. Even if Osimhen can't make the SE now. He should be called up to the U23 team. The U23 team should be involved in some kind of development camping every time the SE are playing a game.
We also need to improve the local league. I like the new U17 Stephen Keshi league. The NFF U13 and U15 program is also good step in the right direction. We have to do more.

Who would have thought Osimhen would surpass Awoniyi in his first season?

If every African country could sign up, it would mean the U23 team would travel with the senior team on the African continent (at least) and play the host county's U23s.
There will of course be cost implications which might prevent such a plan

I'd go as far as saying Chukwueze from the same set might even surpass Iheanacho in the next one year.ogasir wrote:Who would have thought Osimhen would surpass Awoniyi in his first season?

Re: Osihmen Hangs x2
Quite a few of that U17 set seem to be developing quite well...
The prominent ones are Victor Osimhen (SC Chareloi, BEL), Samu Chukwueze (Villareal, SPA), Kingley Michael (Bologna, ITA) and Orji Okonkwo (Brescia, ITA).

Fingers crossed, the youth policy is beginning to pay off.

The NFF is a macrocosm of the Nigerian society. They don't plan for the future. Once the players are done with the U20 team, they are abandoned.
We don't even have a viable local league.

Lucky? Brilliant first touch and a clear shot on goal. He likely would've snever cored without the deflection. If Harry Kane score the same goal you'd be shouting world class.ohenhen1 wrote:Lucky deflection, but a goal is a goal.
OCCUPY NFF!!
Re: Osihmen Hangs x2
He won't have scored if there was no deflected. That would have been an easy save. But a goal is a goal. At least he took the shot .EMIR KONGI JAFFI JOFFA wrote:Lucky?
