Glenn Hoddle is in hospital after being taken seriously ill at the BT Sport studio this morning.

The Tottenham and England legend reportedly collapsed on his 61st birthday.

Broadcaster Jake Humphrey, who works alongside Hoddle for BT, broke the news on Twitter.

He said the BT Sport Score show, on which Hoddle was scheduled to appear at 2.45pm, had been cancelled.

Humphrey had earlier written: "Our friend & colleague Glenn Hoddle was taken seriously ill at the BT Sport studio this morning. He was saved by mouth-to-mouth and CPR in the studio, probably by non-medicals until the ambulance crew arrived.
I keep saying this to everyone - how many of you have the basic knowledge to keep a loved one alive until arrival of emergency services?

There is no 'tufiakwa' or 'God forbid' here.
Just try and learn the basics.
You may save someone's life - possibly even a member of your own family. Better still, someone might save yours!

Thanks for the link.

Wishing Hoddle a full recovery. If England had more players in his mold they would have been 3 or 4 times WC winners.

@Damunk, truth is the majority of better halves would be talking in tongues if not rambling nonsensical incantations in an ancestral language before time. Those more composed are likely to dash for a glass of magic water, the forceful sprinkling of which, when coupled with a full face wipe down, is proven to cure all maladies in Nollywood. That’s assuming the pastor’s phone is busy of course.

Glenn Hoddle 'overwhelmed' by support shown after heart attack - family

Former England and Tottenham manager Glenn Hoddle has been "overwhelmed" by the support shown for him since falling ill on Saturday, his family have said.

Hoddle, 61, was left in a "serious condition" in hospital after suffering a heart attack.

The ex-Tottenham player was later said to be responding well to treatment.

"Glenn and his family are overwhelmed by the best wishes sent since he was taken ill on Saturday," said a family statement.

Tottenham supporters and officials were singled out for special praise.

Earlier on Monday, there were reports Hoddle was out of intensive care, though neither the family nor his spokesperson have confirmed this.

Hoddle collapsed after appearing on BT Sport on his 61st birthday.

Sound supervisor Simon Daniels has been praised for giving Hoddle emergency first aid at the BT Sport studio. Daniels, who is also a special constable, told BBC Sport his first-aid training "kicked in" - but insisted he is "no hero".

Hoddle is considered to have been one of the best players of his generation, winning the FA Cup twice and the Uefa Cup with Tottenham and also having spells with Monaco, Swindon and Chelsea. He was capped 53 times by England.

He was a player-manager at Swindon and Chelsea before becoming England manager in 1996. He also managed at Southampton, Tottenham and Wolves. Hoddle won the FA Cup twice and Uefa Cup as a player with Tottenham and also had spells with Monaco, Swindon and Chelsea.

@Damunk, it is enough. Randomised controlled trials, double blinded and then deafened, have proven that bouncing on one’s forefoot, such that the heel makes minimal contact with floor and enclosed breasts pendulate in vertical axis, is the gold standard, first line therapy. Of course, Holy Ghost fire, must be chanted repeatedly so as to conjure the hadouken of health and healing.

The NEJM recently published a metanalysis re: the importance of recognising spiritual attack. Central chest pain, clammy, collapsed on the floor, the Pastor must be called immediately via WhatsApp, irrespective of geography and the network reception of no more than two bars with sufficient delay so as to render the rubbish spoken, even more incomprehensible, is a must.

Good luck y’all.
