I have to confess that our girls have been piss poor going forward. The Oshoala and Rashidat combo has been pedestrian at best.
While I applaud Ebi, Ebere and Ordega, I think we need to stop huffing and puffing while kicking the ball in the air and string passes together.
I'm hoping for a better 2nd half...

Not a bad half.

Need to see more of Rashidat. She’s been pretty anonymous.

Asisat is beginning to play big man footie. Need her to cut down on turnovers.

I might move her centrally and have Rashidat play from the flanks.

SA are passing the ball better and look more composed on the ball but lack firepower to trouble our defence.

The only good to come out of this strategy is that our defence becomes stronger in that they concentrate and reduce mistakes which is a major problem for us at the past World Cups. But if you offer nothing upfront, you become easy fodder for offensive teams like USA and France.

We are too deep.

We just lack creativity in the middle, just kicking the ball long relying on speedsters to use their physical advantage, which isn't working. Poor ball control and no clear attacking plan..

Our players deliberately draw back and when a runner has the ball, she becomes quickly isolated.
That is why the passing is not working.
The space between the frontline and the rest is shocking.
This is not who we are.
Normally we burst out guts running up and down controlling play.
