Really sad that all the newly promoted teams, with the exception of Kada City that "sold" its spot to Delta Force, were relegated. Personally, I don't feel bad for Remo Stars in light of what they did to the coach who won them the promotion ticket. For other three teams I felt bad for them, especially Bendel Insurance.I actually thought Sunshine, Rivers United or Wiki United would drop, instead of Insurance.

** The number of penalties on this final day of games should be investigated. It is really ridiculous the number of penalties this Sunday.** T

I am surprised at Bendel Insurance being relegated as well. Only last week, they were 5th on the table, ahead of Rivers, Katsina, Wikki and Sunshine. Those four teams passed them with today’s last games.

I think that the Super 6 will be an excellent competition. All those teams often can hold their own away from home which is basically what differentiates teams in the NPFL. Thus, IMHO those are the best six. Good that they will meet at a neutral venue and hopefully with camera coverage and all eyes on match officials. LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!!!

Super 6 Fixtures definitely puts Enugu Rangers in jeopardy. Look at the last two rounds. Rangers play the early games giving advantage to the teams in late fixtures to already know the results that they have to consider as they play their own games. Could have been better to have the last round games start simultaneously.

You certainly make a good point EII. Even if the draws were random, in which case Rangers have little grounds to complain, the last round of matches should definitely start simultaneously. I expect a protest and subsequent change in the timing. In any case, all we have to do is win all our matches and we are champions.

For where :taunt: ?? This is our year and nothing will stop us. We have to move ahead of Enyimba on number of league titles won, currently at 7 apiece. I trust coach Gbenga Ogunbote and the boys to remain focused and not be distracted by our enemies. Up Rangers

SUPER 6 OPENS TUESDAY

Who are your predicted top three finishers who will earn the right to represent Nigeria in Africa come 2020? Here are mine:

1. Enyimba (Wins League)
2. Lobi Stars (2nd)
3. Enugu Rangers (Confed Cup place)

EII, I can see that you rate group A stronger than group B as your three top finishers are from group A. Why then don't you rate the runnaway leader of the group as your number 1? For me, it will be
1. Enugu Rangers
2. Lobi
3. Akwa United

NPFL Championship Playoff : Enyimba Pip Rangers In Opener

Enyimba defeated oriental rivals, Enugu Rangers 1-0 in the opening game of the Nigeria Professional Football League Championship playoff at the Agege Stadium on Tuesday, reports Completesports.com.

Joseph Osadiaye scored the winning goal for the Peoples Elephant five minutes after the break.

Enyimba dominated the opening exchanges but failed to break down their opponents defence.

Ikechukwu Ibenegbu came close to breaking the deadlock when he hit the woodwork a minute before the break.

Osadiaye put Enyimba ahead in the 50th minute of the encounter.

The former Warri Wolves winger got the better of his marker before blasting a shot into the net.

Rangers fought hard afterwards but were unable to find the equaliser.

Kano Pillars and Akwa United will clash in second game of the day, while FC IfeanyiUbah and Lobi Stars will do battle in the day’s final fixture.
