Na wa oo, our 2 strikers Ifeanyi George and Seka Pascal have been injured and substituted in the first half. Hope not another Man Utd that had 3 injuries in the first half against Liverpool!!!

HT: Lobi 1 - 0 Rangers
A contested free-kick scored by Solomon Kwambe. We are never far away from controversy.

Straight red card to Lobi player in the 59th min for dangerous play. Let's hope we can capitalise on our 1-man advantage to equalise and win the game.

Game over

Lobi 1 - 0 Rangers. We couldn't make our numerical advantage count.

We are still top of our group with 34 pts, 4 pts above second-placed Lobi with 3 games to go.

Onto the next game against Bendel on Wednesday.

NPFL Wrap: Felix Ogbuke seals early playoff spot for Enugu Rangers
A late goal from the in-form striker has given the Flying Antelopes an early ticket to the season-ending Super Six tourney
Enugu Rangers have sealed their place in the season-ending ‘Super Six’ tournament after they battled to a 1-0 victory against Bendel Insurance in their Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Matchday 20 fixture at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium in Enugu on Wednesday.
Substitute Felix Ogbuke scored another crucial goal for the Flying Antelopes as he found the back of the net in the 85th minute after the hosts had toiled fruitlessly to break the stubborn Insurance defense.
Ogbuke’s effort evaded everyone in the box before nestling in the back of the net to send the fans present at the Soccer Cathedral into wild jubilation.
Rangers with 37 points from 20 games cannot be overtaken by any of the teams outside of the playoff spots presently even if they win their remaining matches and the Flying Antelopes lose theirs.

This site does not allow me log on using my phone data so whenever I do not have access to wi-fi, I am unable to post anything. That is the reason why this report is coming late.

Yesterday, Rangers beat Bendel in Enugu 1 - 0 and qualified for the play-offs. Rangers have 37 points with 2 games to go, and only Lobi on 30 pts and Enyimba on 29 pts with 3 games each to go can catch Rangers. 3 teams from each group will play-off for the league winner.
Up Rangers.

QUALIFIED FOR SUPER 6

Rangers
Akwa United
Kano Pillars

Three more teams (2 from A + 1 from B) to join them in the battle for top three to represent Nigeria in Africa.

Two Spots (2) -- A
Lobi Stars
Enyimba
MFM

Obi and Enyimba have inside track for two other Super 6 spots to join Rangers from Group A but MFM still has an outside chance.

One spot(1) --B
FCIU
Nasarawa
El-Kanemi
Dela Force

FCIU has inside track for one spot from Group B to Super 6. Note that any of the last three listed above can still be relegated mathematically.

RELEGATED
Remo Stars
Niger Tornadoes
Yobe Desert Stars

Facing Relegation (5)
Five teams face relegation still. That includes three mentioned already and every team in Group B except Pillars, Akwa United, & FCIU. In Group A, Katsina, Wikki, Sunshine, and Kwara also face relegation. Note that Wikki hosts Rangers last week and will likely go through as they are home and Rangers do not need the points.

8 teams to be relegated seems a lot but I know that LMC wants to return to a 20-team format next season. 4 teams will be promoted from division 2, I wonder whether our good friends will be among them!!

Div 2 has less teams this year so only two teams should have been allowed to be promoted and six relegated from Div 1. As it stands those 4 coming up from Div 2 will likely go back down the following year.

oscar52,

There are strict rules on number of teams to be demoted or promoted. However, this year is an aberration because NO TEAM was demoted last year and FOUR were promoted. This blew up the elite tier from 20 to 24 teams. Thus, this is a correction year. What you are asking is a second tier full of teams that seek annual promotion should forget two additional slots that they are guaranteed? And you are asking them to do this when the problem was not because of any thing that they had done? Bros, this an elite tier problem that the elite tier should solve and that is why they are putting down 8 this year to return to their 20 (incl. 4 coming up from the second tier).

E11:
Mathematically, River United and Insurance are also not safe from the relegation in the Group A.
