Alampasu Starts!

Post by Dammy »

Dele Alampasu starts his first game in goal in the Portuguese Premier league for Fierense away to Rio Ave.
This is a good development that will lead to increased competition in the SE goalkeeping department. Scores is currently 0-0.
I am happy

Good Start

He made a top notch save in the 90th minute to preserve the draw. Good start for him. Now it's a question of whether he can stack up starts and good performances.

Good news. I must I am impressed with the boy for his discipline and perseverance. It is not easy to stay in the background for so long while waiting for a break.

Nigeria need to be developing players like Dele in Nigeria. Instead we outsource their development waiting for them to get a break.

Anyways good to see that he is developing.

And I guess you will be the one paying his wages in order that he can take care of his family in Nigeria, right?
You need to try and be congnizant of the reality these chaps face, before you start positing unrealistic desires on your part

Very happy for him -finally after all the frustration of waiting for him to come good

Its simple if he plays consistently up till May- June – He will certainly knock off Akeyi or Ezeamwa for the nations cup spot. 95% sure of this

It usually takes longer for goalkeepers to develop. Goalkeepers can play longer than outfield players. @kongi please show us where I wrote him off.

I like him better than Uzoho. I am still not yet sold on Uzoho.

Uzoho looks like he is going to be really good if he continues on his current trajectory. He is getting good coaching. He just needs experience.

If I'm not mistaken, I read somewhere that Almpasu was actually second fiddle to the first choice U17 keeper back in 2013 until something happened and he (Alampasu) got the top job.
Uzoho was next in line to Alampasu.
Does anyone know who that 1st choice keeper was, what happened and where he is right now?

Gotti or Enugu II might be able to shed some light....
