Maybe I am misunderstanding the meaning of the word "winner," as used in this context. I was of the impression that a winner is someone who wins, consistently. Or are you defining the word differently?
"Winner" in this context? Your definition is inaccurate. A winner is simply one who wins. There's no content around that.

You're trying to define a serial winner.

A winner is simply one "who wins."

I am not so sure your definition is different from mine. It's just worded differently. What is the difference between "one who wins?" and "one who wins, consistently?"

I cant see one, perhaps you could explain it to me.

But if we are to use your wording -- "one who wins," then we can conclude that Klopp is NOT a winner, because Klopp is not someone "who wins." He has lost so much in the last 7 years and only won 2 titles in 8 years. He is one who has won 2 times, but NOT "one who wins."

You're trying to define a serial winner.
I am glad we both agree that Klopp is NOT a serial winner.

I like this comedy routine that danfo and his sidekick tfco are doing these days.

tfco is definitely the side kick of the two.

danfo, a winner is a winner. And Klopp is a winner, I can't be any clearer than that.
What is the difference between "one who wins?" and "one who wins, consistently?"
See my post above.

Klopp's losses in finals don't nullify his victories. That's not how it works. Just like Mourinho's numerous failures to win the league don't negate his league triumphs.

You can do better than this, danfo. tfco can't, but you can. You're not even trying any more.

Actually, you can. By your definition, Roberto Martinez is a winner, and so is Ian Dowie. After all, they have both won before. Hell, Even Roy Hodgson has won so much more than Klopp can even dream of winning. Is Roy a winner?

I think TFCO referred to Klopp's loses in finals. I didnt. I am only concerned with victories. How can you win 2 titles in 18 years and be a winner? How can you go 7 years without winning a trophy, not even carabao, and be considered a winner. That's my confusion here.

I am comfortable with admitting that a person who has won in the past -- once or twice -- has won. But to say that such a person, who has not won in years and who has no history of winning on a consistent basis, is a winner, is simply prostitution of the word -- winner.
Yes, Klopp has won previously, so many years ago, and only 2 titles.

And I noticed that you keep mentioning "Mourinho." Is that supposed to persuade me? or make me feel warm and fuzzy inside? :???:

danfo, you're asking if people who have won trophies are winners. If you don't already know the answer to that the there's not much I can do to help you. I'm sorry.

As for Mourinho, I'm using him as a comparator to illustrate the fallacy of your logic. Only you can tell us whether Mourinho makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Oh! well, I guess Hodgson, Martinez, Ian Dowie, di matteo, Graham Souness, Simon McMenem and Steve McLaren are all winners!

Sarri In!!

Make the man at least finish season and have a full summer to prepare..

He however needs to be more flexible in his approach to games. Tough Feb fixtures ahead. should be exciting!!
