Tactically smashed. Exactly what Ole Gunnar Van Gaal couldn’t do yesterday. God alone knows what Pikachu said at half-time, his three at the back looked almost as pathetic as Ole’s Big Big night at Old Trafford. Dortmund have been destroyed.

Midfield General Sissoko, everything Dabmaster wasn’t yesterday. Brutus of a display.

The Hotspurs were darned near clinical today. That premier league race is far from over. Looks to me like a 3- team battle :!:

Nope, comparing the tactical dismantling of United and Dortmund. Tottenham, sans Kane, Alli, with Winks, Foyth and Vertongen at wingback...who’d have thunk it? That’s the difference, everybody’s mate Solksjaer isn’t in the same league. Not to say Pikachu is sliced bread but certainly ain’t the agege torn and swallowed with warm mineral. As they say on the cobblestone roads of old London Town, “he got chiefed up”.

Not an appropriate comparison. Maybe if you had brought up the Liverpool vs PSG group game at Anfield, that is a better one to compare.

Very appropriate, less the point is missed. Tottenham could, should and hopefully will be handled appropriately in the return leg, however yesterday's demolition job was not a matter of superior players. Point in case. Dortmund lost sight tactically and were run roughshod. On a big, big night at Old Trafford Ole Van Gaal, offered the same song used vs Burnley and Huddersfield. Limitations. As great an effect as he has had domestically, tis obvious to all shorn of sentimentality, he's not quite there yet. Could be another Bobby Di Matteo, season 2. For those very reasons, hopefully he'll get the job.

We've been to Dortmund during the days of Aubameyang and got a result. Regardless of this result we'll go there to compete and hopefully carry the day.

They'll have to come out and play. As long as we don't concede in the first 30 mins. They will have to take risks and we'll probably have to contain and counter.
If Harry is back by then that should add to their trepidation

Fair enough dude, we can also look at things that way.
It can help to assess if our Ole is ready for the big European stage, we should not shy away from looking at things that way.
It can be argued that he could have tried the Mourinho tactics :rotf:

he did publicly say he was happy with the squad

he said our front 3 is comparable to PSG's, or slightly below theirs
