Didn’t they play against Shehu’s club? Shehu posted a pic with all of them before the game.

I still can't believe that SIASIA started Umar in a crucial AFCON game vs Egypt years ago.

Remember few weeks before that match, Umar had played in Siasia's team at the Olympics where he performed. So it's a no brainer...

Awaziem in particular has been in great form for Rizespor.

The problem was Siasia played him in an unfamiliar position as an AM. He looked better in the Olympics because he was used as a winger which is best position. Umar is a decent winger and may even be able to play as a center forward, however, we have better options on the wings (Kalu, Chuwkueze, Musa, Moses, Onyekeru).

He's on loan at Rizespor from Pyramid FC...

Thanks. So it was a essentially a sale and leaseback? Pyramids bought him then loaned him straight back to Rizespor?

I actually think Azbubuike is a good shout for a DM/water carrier. He breaks up opposition play really well and keeps it simple. Not sure how long JMO will remain interested in NT duties. When JMO calls it a day, Azu should be in the mixer.

To be fair it would be really weird if a pro footballer went round smelling SE team shirts.

To be fair he was in great form at the time. However, in the duet of qualifiers against Egypt, he proved to be a cut below what was required, and that hasn't changed.
