Let us show support for Uzoho

Post by Polly »

In the unfolding soccer drama in Cyprus, Super Eagles goalkeeper Francis Uzoho has received a one-match ban and a fine of 1,000 euros by the football association. His crime: he was found guilty of ineligibility for his first (and only) match so far.

As it turns out, the mago-mago concerning his deadline-day transfer to Cyprus was perpetrated not by the young keeper, but by his club. He is said to have informed the Police that his was on his flight to Cyprus when his medical certificate was prepared for him. Club officials did that to enable him play for them upon his arrival. The club has been docked six points as punishment. I am appealing to our guys to understand Uzoho's situation. He was just taken advantage of.

Oookay...
Not sure what your post is all about.
Most people on this forum recognize that he had little or no part to play in this debacle. His club, as you rightly put it, wanted him on as soon as possible and doctored a Medical Cert for him.

Nobody is bashing the young lad. The club will pay his fine - and it was a bit stupid of the Cypriot FA to fine him, when he had nothing to do with the decision to issue the Medical Cert.

No need for him to leave Cyprus. he has served out his match ban and should be between the pipes for his club's next league game.

What meds are you on?
The regular season ends this weekend. The league is split into two groups of six and they play another two rounds.
