We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. We used to think before then that if the other players are better, you have to lose. After that we learned anything is possible – you can beat better teams by using tactics." Jurgen Klopp

I would add Dumfries to that. He actually impeded Van Dyke rather than help him...
He skinned VVD who should have forced him outside and he scored a blinder. End of tori abegi :tic:

Great defense by Rudiger. Typical cheating Liverpool scum Wynaldum diving for a pK. Ref not fooled.

Gnabry started from wide. His help should've been on the inside...That's my point...But rather than help, Dumfries who is the right back made the situation worse...

Okay fair enough but are you disagreeing that VVD wasn’t poor defensively? I teach simple “jockeying “ which is a defensive term used for even u-10s to protect the middle and force the attacker wide.

VVD didn’t do that hence once Grnabry cut inside the goal was at his mercy

I think I started by saying to add Dumfries to the list. Van Dyke is sometimes too confident for his own good...
