Wingers for AFCON/Kalu's fitness?

Post by olu »

Not sure of the status of Kalu's recovery, and hope he recovers in time for the AFCON. curious to see which 4 wingers/wide forwards you would pick for the AFCON. Mine are:

Chuwkueze
Kalu (if fit)
Simon (particularly useful when we play with wingbacks. Simon is very good defensively)
Onyekuru

If Kalu is not fit, I would go with Okereke or Dennis Bonaventure. Musa is in my final 23, but would prefer to use him as a center forward.

Also can't stand the idea of Chuwkueze playing in the U20 world-cup. I would rather have him play in the AFCON if he has to pick one or the other.

and this exposes the folly of Rohr not testing Okereke in that Egypt friendly.

If Kalu is injured ?

If Chukwueze plays U20 ?

Onyekuru is not a winger. I have seen him plenty and he just does not cut it out wide. He does not take on defenders, he does not create chances. He is just fast and can finish.

I'm sorry but I was not impressed with him during that Egypt friendly even though many for some reason were.

I just saw a whole lot of running around and nothing in terms of production.

If Kalu is fit, these are my 4 wingers

1. Samuel Chukwueze
2. Samuel Kalu
3. Ahmed Musa
4. Moses Simon

However I would like to see the following in camp

David Okereke
Dennis Bonaventure

If either of these 2 can take Moses Simon's spot, then I'm all for it.

What about Victor Moses ? Weeks ago people were saying he will come back, but is there any truth to this ?
