Not surprised. I was actually expecting to see worse. Many years ago, as a 14 year old, I went to watch Bendel Insurance play. After the game, I was heading out of the stadium and there were a bunch of people standing by some houses "hailing" towards me. I looked back and there was this shriveled frail-looking man attempting to raise his hands to hail back, and it was Fregene. He looked very bad. This was many years ago. Thank God he is still alive because the Fregene I saw that day looked very bad.

...well the guy is old, in his 70s I suppose. Life in Nigeria is not necessary conducive to older folks where there is suppose to be social security-like safe net.

Meanwhile, we lost 2 ex-Bendel Insurance players last week...
George Omokaro (who was in that famous 1978 team) and Wilson Oboh (ex-U20 Flying Eagle).
