Btw, Uchenna Kanu is not home-based...
She is a student-athlete at Southeastern University in Florida.

Watched the game vs Burkina Faso. Their ball movement was really nice.
Some of these home based will be in the WC squad.
My picks after the Burkina Faso game were: Osare Igbinovia (#10, Central midfielder), Mariam Ibrahim (#7, burly centerback) and Alice Ogebe (#3, right wing back) and Amarachi Okoronkwo (#12, defensive MF).

Niger were beaten silly in their first game as well, losing 0-12 to Mali.

It’s developmental.
Think the aim is to give as many subregional countries as possible a chance at competitive football.

Will look towards us topping that and hopefully, setting a female record here.

Agree (that game is still on the Cujoo site btw)...
We’ve always played some good football within Africa, and (if form holds) likely to meet Ghana in the final.

Actually like the idea and I believe Pinnick was behind this.
Not only does it help WA countries competitively, it also would keep our ladies on the continent active and hopefully, help close the continental gap.
The USWNT, for example, plays close to 15 - 20 matches every year. Some African countries don't even play a single game in years!
Competitions like this, even with the lopsided scores, is actually important in us developing our Women's football in general.

While I will skip most of the 2H (checking only the scores)...
Won’t be surprised if the Falcons (consciously or unconsciously) take the foot off the pedal.

It gives us a chance to see some of the fringe and up coming ladies in action.
