...as they were at the last WC. Remember the opposition putting 6-7 players inside the 6 yard box on our GK's toes during set pieces at the last WC? They did that because they knew our GK was utter bobbins. This was my post after the Falcons' first game (against Sweden) at the last WC:
1) The difference between the two teams was the quality of defending and GKs. Sweden had a good GK, Dede in goal for Nigeria was dreadful. Could not catch, kick, or take goal kicks. Dede was at fault for Sweden's first two goals. Dede flaps at thin air.

2) Well done to Nigeria for coming back from 0-2 down at HT. Showed a lot of heart and determination. 3-3 was harsh on Nigeria as they deserved to win.

.....

5) Ebere (LB) was at fault for Sweden's third goal. She was standing 5 yards behind the rest of the defence - playing everyone onside. Then failed to tell her center back that she had a Swedish striker standing behind her on her blind side. Dede deserves criticism too for not screaming at both of them to get the hell up and stop playing the Swedish strikers onside (or if they insist on hanging back and playing everyone onside - to at least bother to mark). That was criminal of Dede because she was the only Nigerian player that could see the whole scenario unfold and see the danger.
