Falcons into next Round

Post by fishward6 »

A coursory look at the remaining third place teams and u can see only Australia has a chance so we are qualified. Well done Falcons my concern is they seem to have no gas left in the tank. So whomever we meet all the old Madams have to be out or we loose . Bring them in the later stages.

Are you sure? Since China is already through as one of 3rd placed teams and we can also assume that Australia will beat or draw with Jamaica, that leaves 2 more teams remaining. Now if 2 out of the 3 scenarios below happen, then we are out. And this is the likely outcome.

Scotland v Argentina - if either wins
Cameroon v New Zealand - if either wins by a 2 goal margin
Thailand v Chile - If Chile wins by more than 3 goals

Having looked at the permutations it is unlikely that Nigeria qualifies.

Their chance of advancing is closer to 26%.

Scotland v Argentina - if either wins (Weight = 33%, chance of occurrent: 70%) = 9.9%
Cameroon v New Zealand - if either wins by a 2 goal margin (Weight = 33%, chance of occurrent: 70%) = 9.9%
Thailand v Chile - If Chile wins by more than 3 goals (Weight = 33%, chance of occurrent: 80%) = 6.6%

We also get through if Scotland v Argentina
And Chile v Thailand ends in draws

Based on scenarios put forth by Lolly and my informed guesstimate of chance of occurrence, that's what their chance looks like. 26%. Yours may be different. If other scenarios exist then the weights will be lower.

I think we will sneak in. However, we have to start creating chances or we will be bounced out in the next round.

How worse can it get? All under 5 mins

1. VAR penalty
2. 2nd Yellow and a Red Card is given
3. Nigeria reduced to 10 women
4. VAR orders penalty to be retaken after miss
5. Nigeria Goal Keeper is penalized with a yellow card for stepping 'out of line'
6. Officials ignore French players encroaching penalty area during spot kick
7. France score the resulting penalty
8. Again encroachment is overlooked
9. Nigeria lose the match
10. Nigeria eventually crash out of the competition for failing to be among best losers

"It depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is. If the--if he--if 'is' means is and never has been, that is not--that is one thing. If it means there is none, that was a completely true statement....Now, if someone had asked me on that day, are you having any kind of sexual relations with Ms. Lewinsky, that is, asked me a question in the present tense, I would have said no. And it would have been completely true."

Four spots available out of six

China is in
Brazil is in

We need Chile to win by less than a margin or 3
We need Cameroon or New Zealand to be a tie or either side to win by a margin of 2
We need Argentina or Scotland to end in a tie, or Scotland to win.
We need prayers!
