THE PENALTY AGAINST THE FALCONS WAS A TRAVESTY
I can safely say I’ve never seen an award like that in my life.
BUT let’s face it, our girls can’t play ball. They can’t string passes, have no ball players in
Midfield...on and on and on. We can support, but this is just not how a team should play.

How??? Going to kick a ball, and the leg goes through to kick the player??Oguleftie wrote:It was a penalty.deanotito wrote:I can safely say I’ve never seen an award like that in my life.

Penalty was a correct call.
For someone of Nwabuoku's experience, her play in this match has been nothing short of pitiful.
Dennerby needs to yank her off and put someone else in.

The player actually made contact with the ball.deanotito wrote:How??? Going to kick a ball, and the leg goes through to kick the player??Oguleftie wrote:It was a penalty.deanotito wrote:I can safely say I’ve never seen an award like that in my life.

Contact or no contact it was a dangerous play and deservedly a penalty.

You have not? Then quite frankly you have not been paying attention at all. See the Spain vs South Africa match for an exact carbon copy and also France vs Norway for a similar one.deanotito wrote:I can safely say I’ve never seen an award like that in my life.

Re: THE PENALTY AGAINST THE FALCONS WAS A TRAVESTY
I hope those arguing dumbly on this thread can see the disparity of the calls.
Speak honestly & say a penalty would not have been called if this latest VAR check was for an incident in the Nigerian box.

Yup it’s ok to kick ones kneecap off. Perfectly natural.

Re: THE PENALTY AGAINST THE FALCONS WAS A TRAVESTY
Sorry, I’m not better than this. That was a travesty. The normal/traditional thing to do is to blow for a downed player. The team in possession kicks it out of play, and when the player is taken care of, you give them the ball.SylverEagles wrote:You have not? There is what you call dangerous play in soccer..when the leg is raised above a certain height. This is a 50-50 ball. Player shoes for ball, even touches it, and then the follow through hits the other player...and that’s a penalty??? That’s straight up nonsense

People have been knocked out cold in soccer with no fouls called.Cito wrote:deanotito wrote:It was a dangerous play to try to clear a ball?? Did I wake up in Mars???Cito wrote:Contact or no contact it was a dangerous play and deservedly a penalty.

We're talking about fairly and consistently applying the rules.

Quite frankly, I can excuse the first. Would have been harsh to disallow that goal. The 2nd? NaahGotti wrote:The first goal was a BIGGER travesty...

Both goals were complete BS.Gotti wrote:The first goal was a BIGGER travesty...
Not saying Germany cannot beat the Falcons, but let is be done fairly.
This is nothing short of outright fraud.

Please don’t use a situation a ref fails in his duty as a norm.truetalk wrote:People have been knocked out cold in soccer with no fouls called.Cito wrote:deanotito wrote:It was a dangerous play to try to clear a ball?? This VAR call is fair. We may not like it but it’s fair.

Please tell them. It’s a downright ridiculous call. She went to clear the ball, actually hit the ball.

Re: THE PENALTY AGAINST THE FALCONS WAS A TRAVESTY
mind you the ref never initially called it, with naked eye all you see is the defender make contact with ball and momentum is natural and has always been hence no penalty for me
if that was a striker shooting the ball into the net and scoring with minumum contact with ball just like this one but kicks a defender like that would that be called back

Re: THE PENALTY AGAINST THE FALCONS WAS A TRAVESTY
Let me give this analogy. If it was a corner against Nigeria, and a Nigerian and German jumped up trying to head the ball, and instead of heading a ball, the Nigerian player mistakenly headed the German player in the head (A VERY COMMON OCCURENCE), would that be a penalty? Have you ever seen such nonsense given??

Guys just check rule 12 on FIFA handbook and quit arguing blindly.
Read page 9 and 26 about excessive force and dangerous play.
