Aina + Ndidi: Nigeria's win over Guinea (+ Ratings)

Post by Enugu II »

The opening half was largely even with Iwobi granted a free role, which he took with relish. However, he did make some poor decisions on his passes but overall his involvement covered a lot of space. Behind him, Ndidi was having one of his best games for Nigeria giving Naby Keita fits in the middle. Nigeria's midfield was indeed authoritative until Iwobi was taken off for Chukwueze.
Ola Aina (2) -- 7.5 -- For the second game running, Aina was clearly the best Nigerian defender. Aina has certainly earned his spot both defensively and offensively.

The difficulties of statistical thinking describes a puzzling limitation of our mind: our excessive confidence in what we believe we know, and our apparent inability to acknowledge the full extent of our ignorance and the uncertainty of the world we live in. We are prone to overestimate how much we understand about the world and to underestimate the role of chance in events -- Daniel Kahneman (2011), Winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics

Sorry, Prof., but he was not the best defender today.
That honor goes to Omeruo, notwithstanding his goal.
